How about the WWII Impressions Boondockers? Those are built on a Munson last are they not?

Are you sure Ben? A lot of Japanese brands are now touting "revised fits" that are longer in the body. I just ordered a buzz rickson's (before learning about this phenomenon) which turned out to be a revised fit. Based on the measurements given by rakuten, strike gold is proportionally even longer. Does it stretch out in width after shrinking in length?

Yeah, my two jackets from the 40's I basically have to wear with high waisted jeans and also tuck my shirts in since they are so much longer than the jackets. It's good to see a repro company is not shying away from that fit the way all the Japanese sweatshirt makers did...

Great jacket, chicote. Looks like it has that short 30's/40's fit that I only seem to find on vintage jackets

Completely different aesthetic, I know, but were these guys not aware of Will Oldham's Palace moniker from the 90's?

Wolverine 1000 Mile boots resoled by Takeshi Okuyama. I ruined the natural edge finish after my dog peed on them, so I applied some brown beeswax with a Dremel and they look good as new. In fact, I kind of prefer the darker sole edge.

Gave them a thorough cleaning and conditioning with Lexol, applied some beeswax to the natural sole edge with a Dremel (as well as some Quoddy waterproofer over that,) then applied a generous coat of Montana Pitch wax to the whole boot and brushed it all down. They're a little bit sticky from all the wax and wax based products, but much softer... possibly too soft; I was able to stretch the instep strap out to the next hole! Hadn't been wearing them much over the summer, but now I'm looking forward to wearing them practically every day.

Update from a while ago (February 8th, 2014): rain and mud at the dog park. The boots were promptly cleaned and conditioned and subsequently peed on by my dog the very next day...

Those look really nice, Jacek. Great build!
Thanks superfuzz, all credit should go to the brilliant http://www.vintageengineerboots.com
I'd seen a few builds on there that were similar if not practically the same and couldn't resist getting my own.

Little late, but here goes my first post!
HWB-66
Wesco Boss
11" height
brown leather upper, brown stitching, no lining
motorcycle patrol toe, no celastic
double midsole, natural edge, white stitching
#705 Vibram sole
custom shiny brass Fukurokuju buckles, 90's Wesco type
I got these at the end of January, but despite being custom fit, they ended up being way too falling-off-my-feet big. After two re-measures and getting lost in the warehouse, I finally got them back a few days ago. Couldn't be happier with the fit-like-a-glove rebuild.
Here's the original build:
and the rebuild:
In addition to the reduced bulk, I think they did a better job on the cuban heel with a more pronounced curve. Going to apply some of the bee oil they came with as they are feeling a little dry.
