  1. Skip the SDA 103 from your list, won't work with big butt and thighs. Furthermore, the taper wouldn't be anywhere near the ThinFinn. Same goes for the Denime XX.

Take a look into UES 400T or Flathead 3012...or the S710 as you already said. It's a quite forgiving cut (but also not a strong taper)

thanks mate, im not looking for a strong strong taper , but realtively not a straight cut so kind of a slim jean but no where near skinny. I read some where eternal 811's aswell? been a while since ive had a pair of jeans , i just gained weight and lost weight then gained .

  2. Hard to tell, as especially Nudie (TF) is often vanity sized and contains stretch denim. This makes it hard to estimate your true size. Best option is to measure your best fitting pair (preferably in 100% Cotton denim, Stretch denim is misleading) and then compare to the Samurai size charts. The 710 or 711 (or the Jin 003) are your Samurai options for slimmer fits, but they won't be as skinny as TF. If you got big thighs, the choice narrows down to the 710, but if you can fit in TF, they should be fine.

For reference, I wear a 34 in dry Grim Tims (stretch fabric) and also 34 in Samurai. But you should really compare the measurements and not rely on tagged sizes.

For reference im 93kg and 179cm , waist is around 36- 37" and thighs 25"

Don't think SDA-103 will work for you mate. Low rise, tight top block and comparatively wider leg opening.

Look for beautiful_FrEaK's Samurai fit guide, it's the denim bible.

As an outside suggestion, Denime XX might work for you - roomy up top with a little 50's taper.

    thanks for the help guys

  3. ok im a 34-36 in nudie thin finns and 36x32 for carhartt sid pants, what models and sizes in samurai jeans and studio artisan would i fit best in ?

i looked into it and samurai 710? and SDA103? my butt is big, big thighs but i like a tapered fit and not a large leg opening, rise i mid /high, dont really like crotch grabbers

    any help is much appreciated!

  4. imho theres not much thinking to imperial sizing. i am 34 in all pants and sz34 dukes and sexi08 have done me well. my true waist is closer to 33 but it's always safer sizing up than down. the best thing you can do is try them on in-store. in their raw state, sz33 will be just as tight as sz34. soak and stretch

thanks for that, the thing is i live in Australia and there are literally no stores that stock imperials... i know how ironic .

  5. have you looked at the sizing for Imperials on Self Edge? i doubt whether either of these cuts would be what you're after judging by your Nudie measurements

i think my thigh measurement is wrong, i lift weights so my thighs are pretty big around 25.5" which would mean i would fit in 34 shearers just fine according to the sizing chart

  6. I don't believe you that your thin finn tagged 34 also measures 34" in the waist. Especially as it starts at 36" (source nudie webshop) and is sanforized, so will only stretch. how do you measure?

well atm i just washed them so they shrunk down a bit, the calf , leg opening and waist is a bit roomy but the thigh is pretty spot on. I measured using the blue in green style

  7. Aussie pride... unfortunately in Melbourne theres basically nothing decent in the city at all. There might be nudies in myer/david jones but Japanese denim.... fargetabouteeet. I even had to buy my imperials (aussie brand) from selfedge (USA) lol. They were avaliable from alloftheabove in Fitzroy but no longer.. for Japanese denim I just use Sutocorp...

yeah agreed, was thinking about using rakuten.

  8. what is wrong with rhd? flathead, samurai, momotaro, real japan blue, tellason, sugar cane - basically the only top-tier label they don't carry is iron heart. its incredible that such a store in australia even exists, and its in adelaide of all places. if they really don't have what you want, just order from self edge or big. saying that, rhd is one of the few stores in the country that i will always try and support.

big? i do often buy my jeans at rhd, they are a bunch of chilled guys but im kind of regretting not getting the imperials a yr ago.....now I can't find them anywhere.
