  1. The title pretty much says it all. I have yardage of Cone Mills White Oak denim both red line one in 13.5 ounce and one in 15.2 ounce. Added 14 oz deep indigo redline Japanese denim.

Not sure if there will be any interest but I know its hard to find small amounts of denim so hopefully I can help someone out. It takes approximately 3 yards to make a pair of jeans.

Please PM me if interested. I will be selling the yard it will take approximately 3 yards to make a pair of pants and shipping USPS Medium Flat Rate Box. If  anyone wants larger quantities I will need to obtain a shipping quote. I have a lot of it hanging around.

  2. Hey guys, I have recently run across this thread and do not want to spam it but simply let anyone with interest know that I have access to a large collection of Union Special and vintage sewing equiptment. It has taken me years of searching to find all the machines and I would like to make sure that anyone that needs one of these hard to find machines get a nice one that will last for years to come.

I have several 43200G's (all generations), 43200 EdgeLocks, and walking foot 43200 style EdgeLock machines.

If anyone needs one and would like more info and pictures please e-mail me at [email protected]

    Thanks.

  3. This machine needs no introduction, it is a Union Special (Third Gen) 43200G Single Needle Chain Stitch Hemming Machine.

This listing is for the machine, the mounting plate, pneumatic folder; no table or motor or knee push.

This machine has been repainted white from the original beige of the Gen III machines. This machine is in great cosmetic and mechanical condition, the internal parts are in far better condition than most G's I have seen come up for sale in a long, long time. See for yourself in the pics with the side plates removed.

This machine is in sound mechanical condition and has many parts that most sweatshop machines are missing.

It has all the covers, even the rear cover which virtually all 43200 machines are missing.

This machine has had new wool wicks added to the main oil reservoir.

Please watch the video of this machine sewing, notice the lack of the usual metallic clatter sound, the absence of that sound (most G's make that sound) means that the push-rods, rocker arms, and other moving parts are in proper adjustment which means this machine will hem very nicely as intended from the factory. You will hear the sound of the belt hitting the mounting plate as the mounting plate in the video is from a 43200 F machine, you will receive the proper G plate with your purchase.

This is rare chance to own a piece of denim history. This machine would make a great addition to any small or large jean shop that has in-store hemming, manufacturing facility, collector, or just a devoted denim head.

This machine has a folder equipped with a pneumatic folder (Genuine Union Special folder not a cheap after-market folder) that has been modified to open and close with a pneumatic ram. It will need an actuator and they are available from Universal Sewing Supply. The pneumatic folder is much more efficient than a manual folder but it will require an air-source and an actuator, either foot or hand operated. The folder can be swapped out for a manual style folder which will require the fabrication or sourcing of the knee lift pivot arm. (stick with the pneumatic folder it is way nicer...)

This machine ships from the USA.

This machine will ship free CONUS if it is purchased as a "Buy it Now", International bidders please note that all import duties, taxes, tariffs, etc are your responsibility.

All sales are final, no returns so please ask any and all questions prior to purchase; if you require more pictures please let me know.

*Note* in the video's this machine is running on a 43200F plate for demonstrative purposes only, the mounting plate you will receive will be the proper 43200G plate; the knee push attachment pivot point has been removed because the new folder is a pneumatic folder. The folder has been removed for the video so you can see the machine operating. As a result the hem does not have a pronounced roping effect, this is because the folder is the reason that the 43200 G makes a roped hem, not the machine itself. The "push-pull" effect is a misnomer and unfortunately many denim heads believe this incorrect information, the roping is caused by a feed differential between the folder and the machine. When you put the folder on this machine your hems will be roped so do not worry. As noted previously, this listing is for the head, mounting plate, and folder only.

Be sure to check the listing for more pictures and videos!

  4. Perhaps the rarest Union Special known to exist...

This is the almost unheard of 43800 ( double needle 43200). This model appears to be a pre-production prototype, it is marked on the build plate as a 43200 FZ, but on the casting it is stamped 43800 and many of the internal parts bear 43800 part numbers.

This machine is an unbelievable find. Those of you who know about the 43200 Edge Lock and the 43200 G know that in the 43000 series manual the 43800 is listed in that manual as one of the work-wear family of machines.

This machine is in great mechanical condition and sews wonderfully. This machine as noted above was initially intended to hem pockets; that being said it could also be used to hem the bottom of jeans, it would require the commission of a custom folder, available from Atlanta Attachments or NY Sewing Attachments and the removal of the bed plate. It can also be run in a single needle configuration by removing one needle.

This is likely the only chance you will ever get to own this machine; it is rarer than the impossible to find 43800 as it appears to be a pre-production model. It could also be an investment piece as there is a cult like following for the 43000 series of machines and this is one that even a museum may like to have.

International buyers please note that all taxes, tariffs, import duties, etc. will be your responsibility.

This listing is the the head and mounting plate with rubbers only, no table or motor.

This machine has lived in the US and was not purchased from a Thai sweatshop like many of the 43200 machines that are currently available.

Don't pass up this once in a lifetime opportunity; great for denim heads, manufacturers, collectors, or even investors. It is unlikely that there will ever be another one of these for sale anywhere in the world...

This item is listed on eBay, please check out the listing for more photos and videos of this thing sewing.

A discount will be applied if this machine is purchased by a SF fourm member.

    Price $14,995

I have a pair of Diesel Denim Gallery jeans that were purchased new and worn for a total of less than 5 hours. They are size 32.

I am not sure what a fair price would be, the same pair comes up on Polyvore for $790.00 but they are all sold out.

    Free shipping in CONUS.

Please ask any and all questions.
