  1. That's why I am looking for a pair that really isn't too "boyfriendy" but also not skinny or flared or bellbottom.

I dont know though, I think the Railcar Viper might be a good option too...a bit more than I can afford though. At least I can find the LVCs on ebay.

Most of the LVC fits aren't going to really meet your criteria, most LVC 501's are a straight-slim straight. The only cut that is kind of what you're thinking of is a 1954 501z. You can get them in a 28 or a 29, but you'll need to have them hemmed for sure. Other than that the only LVC cuts that are slim are the 605, or maybe a 1967 505, but it's considered a slim straight.

  2. I worn them on and off for about 2 months. There great just not really fitting me the way I want. They really don't have fades but there are the whiskers and whatnot. $220 obo. I'll post some pictures once I get home.

  3. Ya they are a fairly slim fit, but I don't look good in a larger fit, I'm just happy I found an LVC pair that fits the way I like it. The denim was actually softer when I first got them and got very "crispy" after the light soak. The denim is actually really high quality, and the little details are rad.

  4. Aren't those 28s awfully tight in the waist even before shrinking for a true 29? Were they oversized? I just picked up some 54s recently as well and while they're tagged 32 they actually ran a little under when I measured them (about 31.5). But I'm a true 31, so thankfully even after shrinking they should stretch out fine.

Oddly enough the 28's were tight, but the 29's were way too big, so the 28's are stretching out perfectly. I'll post up some pictures tonight, the fit is probably more slim than this thread is used to, but I'm very happy with the result. Not too mention because I work at Levis I didn't have to pay retail. =D

  5. I did end up soaking them, I just left the waistband untouched, so it's all jazzy. It was only a 10 minutes soak in luke warm water, but they lost about 1.5 inches, and just shrunk overall but so far I'm liking the look. They didn't loose any indigo, but ya they loose a lot in length.

  6. SO, I just bought a pair of the 54 501's, and I'm debating whether to soak them or not. They fit pretty well, but I wouldn't mind them shrinking a tad. Does anyone have any experience with how much they will shrink in a hot soak? They are 28/34 too. I won't soak the waist, because I can't loose two inches there.

  7. LVC is a pain in the ass sizewise. Sizes change from season to season. What do you prefer? A slim fit? The foolproof way in this case is go tts raw (get measurements before you buy!). For example: a tagged 32x36 measures maybe 33x35 raw and shrinks down to a 31x34 after soak, then stretch back to a 32" while wearing.

I'm glad they do different inseams. My 66 (tagged 32x34) got a 31.5" inseam :P, good thing is that a 66 looks better with a lil' highwater leg B)

I really want a slim fit, but not quite as slim as the 511, a little more of a full cut. I guess I'll just head to the Levi's in Malibu since they have all the one's I'm looking at.

  8. I know this might be a weird question, but I figured the LVC thread might be able to help out. So, I need to get a pair of LVC 501's and I'm leaning towards the 54's because of the tapered leg and the overall silhouette, but my question to the sizing. I know in Iron Heart's i'm a solid 29, and in most denim I'm a 29. What should I do about sizing? Should I do the 30x34 and shrink them a ton or just go 28x34 and wear em raw? I know they are unsanforized but hell, i've seen some that look awesome that the owner didn't do an initial soak. Also, i'm about 5'11 140lbs if that helps. Or should I just get some Made in the USA 511's?

  9. Got my xx-005's today. Man they are really slubby, but I love it. The fit is awesome so far, the thighs are a little tight but I knew that they were going to be, the straight leg will take a little to get used to because i've been wearing my IH 301's for some time. I'll post some fit pics later tonight, but I don't have my camera with me so my iPhone will have to do.
