The Dayton's look nice, but is the cap on the right foot a little skewed or is that a camera artifact.

This happened to me too ... CXL stretches out too much ... I had to sell my pair.

She is so precious ... just to warn you though, completely new wear patterns will begin appearing on your denim - for me, it was excess wear on the knees!

I'm not familiar with the 1xxx series denim ... but if that was the 3xxx series, I'd exchange for the next size up.

Guns & Money came to mind when I heard of Lawless denim  ... my line will be branded Convict

No red & white shell boots for you ... on a more serious note, what were you planning to have made? 

Is the wedgie effect more common with certain cuts --  i.e. 55, 66, etc --  or is this also relative to body type & brand? Can this potential issue be identified when first trying on the unsoaked denim or does this occur after a soak + regular wear?

The wedgie issue will be evident upon trying on the jeans and will not disappear post-soak and with regular wear ... don't count on up-sizing or down-sizing either to address the problem ... all of this, from personal experience.

It's got to do with one's backside and the shape of the back-rise seam that is common with all repro cuts.  

The good news is that if you have no issues with the Levi's cuts, then you're likely never to encounter the dreaded wedgie!  The same good news if you have a non-prominent backside as echoed by Cold Summer.

I've owned the 3005 and F380 (similar to 3009) ... despite buying a couple of sizes of each pair, I couldn't avoid the dreaded wedgie displayed in the left-most picture ... I love the 3xxx series denim but the retro anti-fit seats does not work with me.

Ronin ... make sure the seat works for your anatomy.

PBJs look great on her ... so much so that I can't now imagine that they would work on a guy.

I've got the single-strand in black and natural.

I really like the swelled ends ... the 3:16/SE version pales in comparison.
