I noticed that a few days ago, but when I checked to see if I could re-follow it showed that there were 0 people following this thread. It shows 1 person following now so I tried it again, and it still doesn't show up in my "content I follow" section. I clicked on follow this thread AGAIN and it said that "if unfollow this thread blah blah blah... Sooo maybe it is working now

I like goatskin as long as it's veg-tanned. The book binding stuff is really nice and pretty expensive. The guys at Langlitz swear by it for jackets. Here's a billfold I made tonight from some (not expensive) goat that was veg-tanned to cover bibles. It's quite stiff for it's weight, super thin, and incredibly strong.

There is a fellow by the name of Ray Jardine, and he lives by the lightweight hiking lifestyle. Really a great resource if you want to learn how to make equipment. He actually sells a knife sharpening kit that uses some sandpaper on a wooden block. I can get my knives shaving sharp with it. He also sells kits to make your own knife. Its a fun afternoon project, and you get the satisfaction of building something useful.

I have been following for a while, reading, learning, royally screwing up, and I finally got something to come out close to how I wanted it to. This was from the last bit of the first shoulder I bought. Just enough success to warrant another purchase
