  1. i had at least two issues w/brand new sl-200s' buttons. funny it was the second from the top on both occasions. even the third pair is starting to show some trouble. kiya and andrew were very accommodating.

it seems like the button is somehow causing a small tear around itself. if i were to take off these like i do my samurai's, i think the thing would fly across the room. you can't reattach the button that popped-off just like you can't reuse an already hammered rivet. send 'em back and ask them to fix it.

Thanks for the info; good to know. And yeah, the guys at Self Edge were great about it.

  2. I think they just clip in, not unlike a press-stud (like the optional LVC suspenders buttons for the 1937XX). Can't you ask SE to just send you a spare button to fit yourself?

Yeah I wasn't sure if they just clipped in or if the pieces were soldered together. It looks like solder might've been used.

I actually still have my old button. I guess I'm wondering if I can just reattach my button or if it is "broken" somehow and I need a "fresh" one to fit it right.

  3. So the button on my ST-100x popped off. Since I bought them at SENY Kiya offered to replace it, but that'd require me sending my jeans back and forth.

So before I did that, I was wondering if anyone had any experience reattaching buttons on their 3sixteens (or any other jeans for that matter, I guess)? Is soldering necessary, or should the button just snap right back on?

If it's too much of a process (and if I risk screwing it up) I'd just send them back to SE, but I was hoping to avoid unnecessary shipping.

  4. That shouldn't have happened, bring em into SENY and we'll put on a new one for free.

I'm actually in Boston for school for awhile. Would it be okay if I brought in the jeans at the end of August to get them fixed up? Or if I shipped them to SENY, I'm assuming I'd have to pay for that out of pocket.

Can a run-of-the-mill tailor put it back on?

Thanks for the quick reply, Kiya!

  5. Hey Self Edge Crew,

I bought a pair of 3sixteen ST-100x jeans about a month ago from SENY and I've probably put 5 days of wear into them total, and then the top button just popped off today. Is this a common problem? I've never had this happen to any of my other jeans. Is there a simple fix? If not, Is there anything I can do in terms of an exchange, refund, repair, etc.?

This is sort of a bummer. The jeans are great otherwise.

  6. Are you referring to Self Edge?

Because we get restocks of 3sixteen jeans every week (literally).

    Hey Kiya,

Will you all have size 30 3sixteen ST-100x in time for this weekend's sale? I can't make it to a retail location and would like to order online. Totally understand if that's not possible. Thanks!

Unfortunately, no, but thanks for the info. I think my next purchase will have to be at Self Edge.

  8. I recently bought a pair of ST-100x a size too small. I was gonna exchange them for a new size, but the retailer ran out of my size. Do you (Andrew?) know if you're going to ship out a new run to retailers anytime soon? I'd buy them somewhere else, but I have some unused credit at this one store.

Wore these for 2.5 years near daily. Two machine washes - one at a little over 2 years and again a month ago. Countless DIY repairs on the knee, crotch, and seat. The denim is wearing pretty thin now.

The color in the third picture is the most representative.
