  1. anybody heard from viapiana lately? i was ready to place an order with ben but he hasn't responded to any of my emails since i sent him measurements over a month ago.

Try again.. It might have got lost in the shuffle.

  2. You can always send your measurements via email and I could let you know. Usually I don't do women's jeans, but If there is some preparation then it could be possible.

I also don't have any stretch denim. So you'd have to pick from what I have just the same.

Would a women's cut be doable?

  3. How come Indigoskin always come out so much more extremely faded than other brands?

The humidity here in Thailand takes a big toll on the indigo. I wouldn't be surprised if some of those fades took less that 10 months.

You still got to rock them at least 14 hours a day everyday. Haha....

  4. Hope I don't sound obnoxious here.... But tailoring raw selvage denim is exactly what I do. If I can help in any way please let me know.

Basically I have a selection of material, buttons, rivets, leather patches, and thread that you can choose from to make your jeans.

  5. Thanks for helping with this topic, @gray . Making your jeans was pretty fun.

@dawei94 the other topic i started is now going to be deleted. Sorry for the confusion. Im not thebest with these forums yet.

Im looking forward to making jeans for all of you guys.

  6. I've heard conflicting things about getting my jeans hemmed. I have a pair of Naked and Famous Weird Guys.

I haven't washed them yet. Should I get them hemmed before or after I wash them for the first time?

If I get it hemmed before ever washing them should I just get them hemmed a bit longer than my actual inseam?

You should definitely wash first.. just incase they shrink in length more than you thought they would. The only reason to get them hemmed before, would be to make the hem job look as "washed" as the rest of the jean.. (small price to pay for a better fit.)

  7. matching peoples favourite cuts is what i do.. if you order, make sure that you write down that "these measurements were for womens jeans" in the comment section of the webform.. also, can you measure the jeans as i have shown in this video...http://www.youtube.c...ed/mR501YefA58"

the construction of womens jeans are a bit different.. hope i can be of service!!

  8. im looking forward to making your pair!!!

the sugarcane denim is natural.. its very slubby and has an uneven "artsy" dye pattern.

  9. Hi guys, I haven't been on here for years and years, so forgive me if this is a dumb question.

I have a pair of 1947s that are on their last legs. I've had them for years - they're from back when Sugar Cane was still putting the Levis-looking tags and logo on everything.

I'm thinking of buying a new pair (despite the fact that prices have gone up about 50% since I first purchased them) and was wondering if the quality is still as good as it used to be.

1947's are some of the best in history.. When talking quality, there are a lot of factors that you can take into account. (denim, thread, leather patch, finishing)

The interesting thing about the older jeans is that the production lines were more hands on than they are now for mass market product. Don't get me wrong, there are lots of companies out there doing it the proper way. There are little differences in the stitching and construction methods that make the old jeans more interesting.. But the new ones are fairly similar.. On the bright side, they use stronger thread than they did, and their finishing is more consistent than it ever was. It's hard to find a stitching defect nowadays, whereas back then each piece was special in their own way because of those little stitching defects..

I wouldn't worry about the quality too much on the newer reissues of your favorites.. You'll never have the exact same 1947's but you'll have something close..

    Hope this helps!!!
