does anyone recommend soaking them first or just wear them for awhile and then do a cold soak?

Here are a few hopefully constructive comments for the benefit of not only ourselves but those to come.
I understand that your pants are new. Have you gotten all the shrinkage out of them? If so, take them to be hemmed. This simple step would save a lot of the fits posted here. The silhouette from your knees down would be greatly improved and would hang more straight with a few inches off and a small cuff.
Regarding your "pose" - you don't look comfortable in your own skin. This could be because you don't have a jacket that would be appreciated around here and so you go outside in the snow without one to take a picture and consequently are freezing. It doesn't look right given the context of your shot.
You also look like you are either sucking your stomach in or puffing your chest out, not to mention taking the shot standing sideways to appear thinner - it isn't working.
Whether people are trying hard or not, good WAYWTs are often those that look effortless. Just relax. Don't get defensive. Learn. Lurk. Hang around. Eventually you will be saying "great fits everyone! will rep when I can" with the best of them.
thanks for the constructive criticism. i definitely got ahead of myself and plan on putting more effort into, and understanding more of what this thread is about. and honestly, i don't know what kind of pose i was trying, but like you can see, i need to work on that (i wasn't trying to appear "thinner" by any means, just not really sure how to properly pose). i'm a built guy but still dont know how to position myself to make the most appealing shot. looks like i got some work to do.

has anyone had any issue with the button loops on the fly ripping? they look really close to the edge compared to some other jeans i've had:

I'm selling a pair of Raleigh Denim Nash in size 36 that has been washed once and worn for maybe a week total. Also a 3sixteen x 10BSP pair in size 36 with 1 wash and about the same wear as the Raleigh. Feel free to contact me if you're interested for one or both. I'm asking $95 per jean.

i got ridiculed for my last pic on "what are you wearing today" so maybe this one is a little better? I know my room is messy, i just did a load of laundry. I was just excited to post my new favorite jeans on here.

plus i'm a little drunk and overly sensitive at the moment

haha, yeah i was in a hurry to get something else up. the shirt i had on before was baggy. i understand some of the criticism but i know i need to start finding more optimal angles, settings, and possibly shirts before i upload here... unless i want to be ridiculed for my messy room, etc. i just did a load of laundry and was in the process of putting it away if that helps

Or maybe my shirt was too big or had a weird angle. This might help.
It's hard takin pictures on an iPhone.

First of all this is not my "first decent pair" of jeans ever, I own a couple pairs of raleigh's (one being the $500 25th anniversary pair), a pair of ande whall cougars, a 3sixteen x 10 BSP pair, and an iron heart DC 4001 pair so I know my denim, and second of all I was excited about my Roy's and wanted to share that with the superdenim blog so yeah, my picture is not the best but damn, why you have to be such a hyper critical denim snob?

Lol kinda fitting. I'd say Johnny Cash would be more appropriate though. But that's just my opinion.

Not soaked! Damn, I'm impressed. I guess they get beat up and soft during the stitching process? I've never bought a pair of raw selvedge without it being Frankenstein style before they break in.

Just got my Roy's literally 10 min ago from fedex. Size 33 in straight fit. Are they pre-soaked because I was shocked at how soft they already feel and aren't rigid at all?

Just received my Roy's a couple minutes ago. Love the fit and shocked how soft they already were and not rigid.
