Also, xin- you may have luck with the wood planer, should be able to get it sharp (those flat blades are really easy, just make a little jig to hold your angle) but you will suffer from shitty blade metal on a cheap one, and would probably do better spending a little cash. Should still be able to find a decent used one for pretty cheap, generally the older the tool, the better the blade metal (do some research though). There are tons of sites with wood planer fanatics which would probably help very much with sharpening, maintenance, etc.

Ra, thats pretty cool, so it sews a saddle stitch instead of a lockstitch? Or is it just so that the stitch sits nicer? I was just on their site actually looking a skiving machines, some how missed that.

Also, been making some nifty little pen pouches lately:

Been working on some new purse designs, with some awesome fabric lining. The outside is brown cxl, and the flap is lined with front quarter horse.

Agreed on the gator, epic. I would love to battle a gator to the death and make some shit.

W + c will split natural strap/ tooling leather to whatever weight you want, for free. Hermann oak sells down to 2-3 oz, but no one really stocks it in that light weight, and to order direct, they have a ten side minimum. Id give W + c a call. I think they will charge you to split bridle leather, someone can chime in cause i dont use it. Hope that helps buddy

Im kinda interested in the rex presses, just saw one for 30 bucks on the bay. would be very interested to know if regular dies from other presses would fit it as well.

Something out of the ordinary (for me). Tooled horsehide knife sheath for a buddy of mines knife that was made by his grandfather in the 40s. Pretty sweet blade.

made this silly video for a retailer of my leather knife rolls. Turned out ok, although I just realized that at the end, the same segment plays twice, need to change that:
