Hey guys, the stitching on the backpocket of my 1947 501xx was frayed and parts of it was missing so I decided to have at it and remove all of the stitching. I got done with the top of one arch and I don't think it's looks as good as it did before and was wondering if you guys had any suggestions.
They've been worn for only 4 months, no wash.

Hey guys, I just bought a pair of 1947 501xx from Barney's for $99. I was just wondering what would happen if I didn't shrink them at all (no initial wash/soak)? I am still working on my 514 Japanese Selvedge and won't start wearing the 501s until 5 months later but was hoping to get info on them. Also, how can I tell if they are raw or one-washed? I think they're raw but they don't feel as cardboard stiff as my 514 Selvedge did new.

The fit looks good jRga. It looks to be a slim fit since you're sizing down about 3? The 31 looks more to be a baggy fit.
I'd definitely go with the 30 even though it doesn't fit perfect now. It WILL stretch. I'm a 30 for Levi's 514, and a 30 on the Levi's 501 1947s and I bought a 30 for the APC New Standards. They fit perfectly but stretched out a bit. Get the 30.
