I have very much enjoyed this thread and do not want sundance to shut up.

Sundance, what is on your mind today?

I was comparing like-year 5-series to Porsche in terms of doing your own work.  With few exceptions, an older anything is going to be easier to work on than a newer anything.  I have an E30 that I do my own work on, but I do nothing other than change fluids and filters on my M5.

I know the 944 if the best of the bunch in the 924/944/968 group.  With any car this age, the maintenance history and level of pampering by prior owners is way more important than anything else.  I bet there are enthusiast owned, pampered, perfect 944s out there that would be great and way better than a used-and-abused 911 of similar vintage. I want a 911 (any 911, including 996) but I get it about the 944.  The new Car & Driver says that the Cayman is a better car than the 911 now anyway...

Really, the only E39s that can be considered sporty IMO are the 540/6 or the M5, and with those exceptions, any Porsche is going to be way more engaging when driven hard.  I had possession of a 996 Turbo for about 9 months and it was utterly fantastic.  Made me do bad things.  

While trading in your 5 Series for a P car is not a bad idea, do realize you are going from a very reliable (for a European car) BMW to one of the less reliable examples of a more finicky and exotic brand.  Also, while buying a 924/944 is cheap, parts are still astronomically expensive, way more so than BMW parts, which are merely very expensive.  Personally, I would hold out for a pre-996 911 of some sort, since I think the 924/944 are bad examples of P car excellence.  I drive a BMW 5 series and want a 911 to replace it, so I have been over-thinking this for years.

I don't care if he is crazy or drug-addled or both, the amount of hate he is collecting in the media is grossly disproportionate to any bad thing he has actually done. Beating up pornstars or using his producer's Hebrew name are not good things, but it's not like he killed someone or sponsored dog fighting or something.

I dig the guy for stepping on politically correct toes for the fun of it, and especially for saying AA is a cult and thus driving 12-steppers into a indignant frenzy.

Differnent is not the issue. That dude poliopoliopolio posts fits that look very different and out there, but in a good way. Looking "the same" around here means flannel shirt/jeans/boots, the "railroad worker from the 50's" thing.

Anyway, better shut up now. Got kind of pummeled for breaking the rules and dising a sweater-dress designed by an important designer. Must lurk moar.

^ snot my point. Bill Cosby-style sweater/mini-dress = uncool, no matter where made or by which designer, to me anyway. Not capping on the jawnz, which are pretty much standard. Dunks look absurd to me with this outfit, again regardless of cost or conspicious consuption-value due to being endorsed by an uber hip designer who endorses these particular white dunks.

I want to respect fashunz and stuff, but if I saw someone dressed like this in public, then I would at least smirk and perhaps mock. Did he really look in the mirror and say "Yep, that's some bad-ass stylez, money well spent!"

Given the positive reactions some have posted, I suppose my failure to appreciate this fit shows I am unsophisticated. Meh.

While I very much appreciate your dedication to posting softcore porn on sufu, your taste in fap material has become boring and predictable. Too arty and tame, like "classy" magazine porn of the pre-internet era. The recent rope pic and guy-with-two-laptops are notable exeptions, causing me to at least pause and look again. You have potential for greatness. I encourage you to boldly forge ahead into less mainstream softcore and your predict that your already swolen-to-the-point-of-bursting rep will continue to engorge if you do.

To one of my coworkers, a guy in his 50s who had been dry for a couple years after being an alcoholic all his life, who was making sanctimonious comments about everyone else getting drunk at a work event:

"You're just mad because you can't handle it [alcohol]."

Froze him in his tracks. Too close to home. I felt bad but not too much because he was, in fact, being a sanctimonious dick.

At the same event, when he made some stupid comment, I told him

"you're just mad because for once you are not dominating the conversation with your self-absorbed bullshit"

Again, froze him instantly because it was a truth that nobody had ever had the guts to tell him. Other coworkers separated us for the rest of the evening and years later I am pretty sure he is still mad at me.
