  1. 1. Warehouse 1001XX 15th Anniv. - Perfect denim, hardware and construction. Captures the look and feel of vintage jeans better than any other pair I've seen.

    2. Evis WWII model- Accurate historical details, nice denim, typical evis quirkyness, over a decade before the rest.

    3. Denime XX- Amazing denim, good cut, nothing else to distract.

    4. Evisu 2001 No.0- Mysterious, hard to fade denim, odd-ball cut and sizing. Only for the truly obbsessed!

    5. Studio D'Artisan D1560- Wildcard

  2. SFTD- From the pics I would put money on them being legit. And for what its worth, I think 3-5 K is nothing compared to the ultimate jean lovers experience of having the chance to break in a pair of 50's Levi's. You will not get that chance again...

  3. hrm it would seem so.

While I'm between jeans I've just been wearing some cheap tts Levi's. They stretched out to 38 pretty quickly, even under the belt lol. The fit IS maintaining though, albeit a tad loose.

I know these jeans couldn't be any more different, but what I'm saying is a 38 post-stretch is maintaining. I'll have to consider the 39 No.1 a bit more.

    jyoni,

I was in the same position as you when deciding to buy Ed's 2000 no.0- they are tagged 38. Ideally I would have taken a 36 or even a 35. They shrank down to 35.5" and after two months of wear have settled at 36.5". One thing about wearing jeans oversized is that your waist/stomach isn't putting much pressure on them so they dont stretch as much as a tighter fitting pair would. Also, 2000s are a cut that look decent baggy, so how can you go wrong?

  4. Yeah, I got the ones with the black Kanji on the back pocket. As far as the fit- they are too big- but what the hell- they're 0s and I'm going to rock em hard anyways. I'll try to post some pics soon...

  5. Unfortunately I am without a camera at the moment. Even though they are a different make, the fit is very similar to guiltybyassociation's eternals.

  6. Aho, I think you actually might be ok with those. I just got a pair, true to size and the raw fit was very similar. After a hot soak and hang dry they are just about perfect- not slim but not sloppy either. No WH should be slim anyways. And I'm sure if I had used a dryer they would have shrunk considerably more...

  7. I have a virtually unused pair of Warehouse/Dubbleworks 660s for sale. They are tagged size 35W and 36 L, but have been hemmed (chainstitch) to 32''. They have been soaked and worn for one day, alas they are just too big for me. They are absolutely beautiful featuring the legendary 1000XX denim and show no signs of fading or wear. They have the original Dubbleworks paper patch. The actual waist measurement on these is closer to 36". Sorry, no camera for pictures, but to see fit and evo pics of this model check out the Warehouse 660 contest thread. Asking $150 or best offer.

  8. Denim Works & Co. is the house brands of Denim Works the retail store in Jingumae (Shibuya). They no longer produce these as far as i know.

Thanks for the information Kiya. Do you know anything about where they source their denim from?

  9. He's not talking about a real "thrift" store, where you find little gems for dirt cheap. He is most likely talking about a store where the owner knows exactly what he/she is selling and the purchaser still pays a hefty sum of money. There is nothing "thrift" about that.

Well, you're kind of right. I should have said "resale" shops, although judging by the prices, I don't think the owners ever knew exactly what they had- for example I got the Zipangs from a from a shop in NY. They were marked as 45rpms and looked to be unworn, for $135. When I got to the cashier he looked at me and said "ahh.. lets make it $100". The best though, are the Warehouse- I found them in 2004 at a buffalo exchange in San Diego, nearly unworn, for $15- with tab and pocket arcuates. Who knows how they got there...
