  1. That would be pretty cool.

Here's another possibility. For commuting I wouldn't go for a road bike; I would get a late 80's/early 90's hybrid. Miyata Triplecross, Trek 720/750, etc. etc. Plenty of room for fenders/ big tires/ racks/ etc. These things go hella cheap on CL, especially compared to comparable road bikes.

Also they are easy to convert to drop bars/ moustaches so they don't look super dorky.

    Here's mine

  2. Travelling to get tattoed ups my endurance. At home the longest I ever sat was four hours. Last weekend I travelled to Boston to finish my sleeve. Just the extra "this is it" feeling from going adds endurance. Sat 7 1/2 hours the first day, 3 the second day to finish. It sucked. But it is done!

Just curious, where in Boston did you go?

  3. ahoj. neat bike.

as for commuting definitely get as much lighting as possible. Don't ride all the way jammed to the curb. try to stay more than a door length away from parked cars.

  4. Glad to see some activity in this thread. I guess it's warming up outside for the new season which is cool.

Love that Peugeot. That's definitely my favorite color scheme of theirs. Spiedel components?

Here's my recent eBay purchase. Screw jawns. I'm becoming an iBOB.

  5. You can get Kilo TT's shipped from bikesdirect.com (actually that's the only place you can get them); the Motobecane Track is a bit cheaper ($280) and has a chromoly frame (not sure about the fork). That one has a minimalist paint job that might appeal to you.

One other thing to consider is I think the E-levers have somewhat less leverage than full sized handles; should be fine for a fixed gear but might be dicey on a SS.

  6. It should get you where you need to go. If you can save up a bit longer I would get a Kilo TT; the frame is at least chromoly (Reynolds, even) instead of hi-ten steel, so it makes a better building block for future upgrades.

I've never used the paul e-levers, but I would probably go with some Tektros or something that are really functional and much cheaper, and put the saved money into a better frame. That said I do lust after many Paul components, such as thumbies and canti brakes.
