  1. I read somewhere that Samurai was also releasing a "Musashi" model, and I was hoping someone would have more information on that....

"Posted/discussed a bit earlier in a video showcasing Samurai...its the "earth" element model, part of the "Go Rin no Shou" series that Samurai will do throughout the year, each having different weft dyes per element (ie: red for fire, blue for water, etc.), with this earth model being persimmon dyed. At the end of 2010 they will release the "Musashi" model (forgot what will be special about it though), Musashi being the author of the Book of Five Rings (Gorin no shou) and the guy on all your Samurai patches ;)"

My mac is acting up and not working, but this information should be in quotes and attributed to aho

  2. Does anyone have any information on the Elemental models? I know that the earth model and the water model have been released already, will the Fire and Air models be released later this year?

  3. as an aside, why do people prefer the raws to one-wash. Don't people soak any way which renders them the same? I ask because on BiG, the one wash price is sometimes the same as the raw, and I thought that the extra cost of the wash would be reflected in the price....

  4. Great, now my only decision is between the okis and the hawaiis. Love the slubbiness and color of the okis, but the hawaiis look beautiful too....Would you guys recommend correct sizing if im 32 true waist?

  5. Hey few questions for you sugarcane veterans. Are the 50/50 cotton/sugar cane fibers jeans like the okis and hawaiis as durable as the vintage repro models? A lot of the people have amazing wear on both the repros and the 50/50s, so I was hoping they could offer some insight? I have a pair of S5000vx and am loving its invincibility, how do the sc models compare?

  6. Hey all,

I have simply come to extol the wisdom of veteran sufuers. I finally got my first pair of sams (S5000vx) which were a little tight and I thought of exchanging them, but after a hot soak and about two weeks of wear, they fit me perfectly and are easily my favorite pair of jeans. I'll try to post fit pics etc up soon once I find my camera...

  7. Anyone know how much the denim in the S5000vx stretches? I know the waist should stretch an additional inch, but does the thigh area stretch significantly as well? The fit on mine is great, but I would like a little bit more room...

  8. Anyone want to exchange their S5000vx in either tagged 30 or 31 for tagged 29s if they got the wrong size as well? Mine are worn for two days...don't know if this is the right thread to post this though...

  9. Lol I followed your idea....I've finally buttoned all of them, now I am free to lumber around the house like frankenstein, good thing its spring break and I have lots of free time...

  10. Hey Guys,

Quick question for you. So I recently bought my first pair of Sams (S5000vx) and I sized down as recommended. When I got them, they fit ok but a little baggy, so I hot soaked them twice to get rid of the shrinkage. However, now I can only button the bottom two buttons. I'm not that worried because I hear the zero denim stretches a lot, but I am wondering how long the process takes.... and if there is any chance that I wil be buttoning the last two buttons in the future WITHOUT resorting to exercise.....

  11. Hey Guys,

I just ordered a pair of S5000vx in tagged 29s. If I want to get the shrinkage out of the way before I start wearing them, I read that I should do a hot soak for four hours and then toss them in the dryer. Will this cause significant indigo loss? And I thought you were not supposed to use a dryer for jeans because it ruins them?

  12. I've read that you should size down with the S5000vx in order to eliminate hip flare, is sizing down necessary for the S0110xj or should you go with true waist due to minimal stretching? Can anyone with a pair of S0110xj explain the difference LHT makes?

    I await your illumination...

  13. I posted a bit before, and after checking out a the links in the replies, all I learned was that the S0110XJ was in the lee style and used left-hand twill which is supposed to be softer. Does anyone know any other differences between the S5000vx and the S0110XJ in terms of denim and fit especially? Are they the same cut, but with different denim?

  14. Hey Guys,

I'm new to dry denim, so I was hoping you guys could help me out. I want to make my first Samurai purchase, but not sure about which one. I'm working on a pair of PRPS slim selvage, and want a fit similar to that... I'm leaning towards either the S5000vx or the S0110XJ. I don't really know the difference besides that the S0110XJ is left-hand twill, and I'm not sure what that means. Can any of you guys shed some light?

  15. Hi Guys,

I'm new to this raw denim thing, working on my first pair for the last four months (PRPS raw selvedge slim fit), and I'm trying to decide on my next pair... I've looked through the forums and narrowed it down to either

    1. Samurai S5000vx

    2. Sugar Cane Hawaii one wash

    3. Flat head f380

I love the fit on the PRPS, and was hoping these are relatively similar. Can anyone give me more input on these and possible pros/cons to help me decide...
