I can't confirm, but I would guess these are the very last of the leftovers from a couple years back. I have a pair from 2007 (I think) and they were about 2 inches narrower than the stated size.
My 1947s are from 2007 and were true to size 32/34 before soak

Ordered a natural leather 1.5" belt with stainless steel centre bar buckle from Tanner this evening. The guys at Tanner are fantastic and were really helpful with my enquiries before i ordered.

Is it correct that Red Wing boots are generally on the large size, so its best to size down?

Definitely go for it.
(But uh, I'm not sure about the 'considerably better', I have a 15-year-old pair that look brand new. Keep a regular pair of DMs oiled and waxed and you're set)
I used to wear them daily for work a few years back, and i found that even with regular waxing the leather started to go after about three years - by which point the soles were at the end of their life as well. Though i am pretty heavy on soles generally

I'm considering a pair of these

They are considerably better made than the average DM - they wouldn't give them a lifetime guarantee otherwise. And i love the finish of the leather.

Hi everyone - 1st post
Got a pair of 1947s 32x34 in the post heading my way. My first pair of raw denims after years of wearing bog standard 501s. Going to give them a good soak to knock a couple inches off them and then wear them for a few months before washing - most likely first wash will be when i get back from six days of Glastonbury at the end of June

My Tanner belt arrived today. I emailed them to get the correct size and am pleased to say that it fits perfectly. I would probably have bought one size too large if i hadn't emailed, and would advise to go true to size, but best of all to email them. The belt is absolutely fantastic and compliments my LVC 47s perfectly. Oh, and nice to see that the tax man didn't get any import duty from me due to a bit of liberal truth regarding the value of the belt by Tanner
