  1. I'm going to a couple more Ross locations tomorrow. There are dozens scattered near where I live and work. I haven't went back since Sat. but looking to score a few more in my size (31 to a 34 inch waist).

And no, ross dsnt keep an inventory. Product just comes in and they throw it out there.

Glad at least one of you found a pair. That's the same 1955 I found but in a size 36 but fits smaller.

  2. Anyone looking for a sweet deal on LVC?

Check out your local ROSS stores for various pairs of irregular LVC.

I went to 8 different locations in Arizona and picked up 6 pairs all at $22.99 a pair.

    They are all pre-disstressed versions of 501's;1947, 1954z, 1955 and picked up 2 pairs of 1967 505s.

The only defect i could spot was a "sticky" zipper on the 1954z. It was just tuff to pull up and down.

    @ $22.99 they are a steal!

    Happy Hunting

edit: just picked up a raw pair of 1927 501's too (but in a big size 38x36....looking for a 30 to 32 inch waist)

  3. So i have been looking for a good deal on a pair of LVC or even reg selvedge stf because i lost a lot of weight recenlty so my 1915s and 27s havent been worn lately as much as i would have liked so ive been on the hunt! I decided to look in a trendy resale shop and scored a pair of 1901s for $25! They appear as if they had been worn maybe a handfull of times, if even at all, then washed. They're kinda bland now but they are the absolute best fitting pair of stf's i had ever had....almost as if they were shunken to perfection for me.

Anyways, just wanted to share and speaking of sharing if anyone knows of a site i can find a steal on the web for some LVC's plz share.

  4. Definitely. My 32/36 measured 35/36.75 so I'd definitely recommend that for a 34 waisted person.

I second that. I have a 35 inch waist and wish i had bought the 32in.1915's. The 34s just hang off me (even after a 2nd supper hot soak to shrink em down after about 60 wears.)

  5. I know this is a lvc thread and dont venture out of this thread very often so thought id post it here. While shopping today at the mall I skipped into the GAP and they had selvege slim fit jeans for $29.99 plus 40% off. $17.99 isnt a bad deal. Reg price was $88.

  6. I'd say VERY interesting. This guy has a unique and very envious job. Makes my 'denim hunting' days from the 80's/ 90's seem paler than white in comparison to this dude.

(Although can certainly empathise with 'sweaty hands' before entering a thrift store!)

    Many thanks Serkis ..+Repped

    .

I enjoyed it too, check this out................pretty sweet 5 min video abt his denim hunt.

  7. If anyone is looking for really cheap LVC from previous seasons, I found a few pairs of 1947's at my local nordstrom's rack. I didn't have much time to look around but they had a few in sz. 29 so I imagine its mostly just smaller sizes. They were from 2006 and were priced at like 50-60$.

Thanks for the info Quills. I was planning of stopping by a couple racks anyways so now another reason to go.

  8. thanks airfrog and serkis - unfortunately caliroots is out of sz30 which is what i need (i'm a w32) as i heard from Dejan and a few other sources that these oversized by 2 inches.

    appreciate the help though =)

No prob. It was worth a try..................

    here is a 1915 30x32 for $154

  9. WOW he had them marked down a couple of weeks ago when I bought my 1880s. They were marked down to. The good thing is these have some of the best denim of any lvcs I've owned and if you order say Monday you'll have them probably by Thursday latest.

Airfrog, those are like a beautiful poem. They have given me something to look foward to as i wear mine.

    Bunga, The 1915's are $142 at caliroots.com ..............

    http://caliroots.com/system/search/product.asp?id=19581

I got them at the oki-ni sale and paid around $130 after shipping so the caliroots price is still a great deal.

  10. OK so, a pair of 1915 jeans that are tagged 34x32 will actually measure 35x30.5 after the first soak... man, not much shrinkage there really. Even the length didn't do the usual amount of shrinking (around 2.5-3"). I might could go with a labeled 32 on these.

Yeah, they were 36 inches pre soak and 35in post.

I love the fit and have worn em all day.

(cant wait to see airfrogs pic's either)

FYI, Caliroots had some price drops. All of their raw lvc's are about $144. They have the 1890, 1915,17,44 and i beleive a few others.

  11. I woke up to a super stiff pair of '15's. These are 3 times stiffer than pre soak.

    Post soak measurments......

    waist 17.5

    Inseam 30.5

    Rise 13.25

    Back rise 16

    Thigh 12.75

Really happy with the fit. I will start wearing them today.

  12. congrats serkis , you gonna soak 'em right away or wear 'em a while?

Thanks Doug, I am going to soak em. I've read the "soak-em vs no-soak" and seen great results both ways but will soak em because of the lack of belt loops the 36 inch waist will be a lil big. 34inches post soak then a slight stretch to 35 would be idea but we'll see.

One thing that Im curious about is wearing them everyday. I see some of you write about your "rotation". What do your "rotations" consist of...2,3,5 pairs or more. I ask because now that i have 2 pairs of lvc and a couple other jeans that ive been working on (a pair of '47 pwr's I got for $15 and a cheaper pair of raw selvage jeans i got for $12) but still wannt to make the most of my LVC's.

  13. Just got my 1915's from oki-ni. (They didnt cancel my order....YES)

    Will soak em tomorrow.

    Size 34x32 Pre soak measurements....

    waist 18 inches

    inseam 32

    rise 14

    back rise 16.75

    thigh 13

These look great and can wait to wear them. They sadly did not come with the LVC 501 book :(

2 weeks ago, no LVC. Today i have 2 pairs. :)

  14. update on my 1927's...

measurements: pre soak / post soak

    waist 18in / 18in (used a 2x4 to protect waist size)

    inseam 33.5 / 32

    rise 14 / 13.25

    back rise 17 / 16.25

    thigh 13.25 / 13

    knee 10.5 / 10.25

    hem 10 / 9.34

Pro's- Glad the length shrunk 1.5 inches.

Con's- Beacause I used a 2x4 to protect the length from shrinking the leather tag is now warped and has "bubbled" above the jeans. Booo.

Overall im really happy with them and will wear em tomorrow.

    Cant wait.

  15. Hey the_serkis... I was just about to ask if you had compared prices on those 1927 501s that you just bought from Cultizm ? Because I was compareing prices yesterday or the day before and both Oki-Ni and Asos had/have them on sale WAY cheaper than other places including cultizm (though I think they were on sale there too).

Hey Doug C, thanks for the sugestion. I did research about 5 sites for the best price on them and as a matter of fact I placed my order with okini 1st, waited for 7 days, emailed them for status and was replied with an order cacelation notice. They said it was out of stock but sadly their site allowed me to order it and even showed the same size avail for a few days after that. So long story short....cultizm was a good choice even though I paid a lil more. Plus the shipping...wow. Side note, soaked them last night. Will come home to measurements. Yes!

Oh and I wld love the 1915s but am a lil scared abt the lack of belt loops like dr_heech mentioned....but if there is another price drop and the get to around $100 I will deff get them.

  16. I received my 27's from Cultizm yesterday (FASTEST shipping ever!) but am a lil disapointed on the sizing. I ordered a 34x34 after seeing the 501 visual guide and other members sizing on this model so was expecting them to measure about 3in over the tagged waist size but they were exactly 36inches by a 33.5 inseam (and had to hold them a lil tight against the ruler to get them to measure the 36in)

They will still fit me beacause i normaly wear my jeans loose but am a lill nervous about tonights soaking so will use a 2x4 piece of wood that measures 17.5 inches to protect the waist from shrinking too much.

I will post pre/post soaking measurements tonight after i get home from work.....
