Some MF shots from in and around Lake Tahoe

I've had a 24-70 2.8 attached to my camera for almost 2 years.
I've switched it out maybe 5 times.

I assembled all the messed up negatives I mentioned in my last post in here into a book for anyone that's interested. There's a link to download the full PDF on my blog or right here.

I have nanosphere custom pants that, after a wash/dry, are just over 29" in length.
iirc their measurements were pretty accurate.

Spent 3 weeks in Europe with a 35mm that, as it turns out, had a sticky shutter and ruined most of my negatives...
Such is life, so here's some iPhone photos instead.

It's amazing what you can do with just natural light and a reflector... in this case a window and a stood-up 3-ring binder with some paper in it.
Rirakuma, if you're totally set on the look of 400x, you should just buy as much of it as you can and store it in the fridge. It, along with most slide films at this point, are pretty much on their way out. Provia 100F is still available, but it's getting expensive. There isn't really a directly comparable film that comes to mind that's widely available. I usually just go for Ektar and Portra because it's easy to get.

I believe these are from season 3 of the OP/TMtS collaboration. Beautifully engraved metal frames with sycamore acetate pieces.
Includes the soft case pictured at the bottom. I tried to show all the pertinent details, but if you have any questions, hit me up.
I'd consider a trade for a teardrop style in new/like new condition.

Could always do the whole, no-vowels thing. TCHWR or whatever.
Feel like it could be easily toyed with and made graphically interesting as well (super tracked out, etc).

Classic japaslavian. Tell us about that tad flux hoodie in the tech thread if you find a moment!
Coming right up!
Hoodie in question in the TAD Flux: http://store.tripleaughtdesign.com/Apparel/Sweaters-Hoodies/Flux-Hoodie
They're updating it for 2014, so the one I have is slightly different, so I'll try to note the applicable changes.
The Flux is plain and simple, which is the kind of thing I normally gravitate towards. It works seamlessly as a casual hoodie worn around town, to a functional layering piece for hikes, cycling, etc with pretty decent heat regulation from the Merino. I recently descended Mt. Tamalpais through a bunch of unmarked canyons with just it and a Nike running shirt on and didn't have to worry about getting too hot or too cold. Not too many bells and whistles to speak on here, but I'll show what I can.
Materials:
Outer face is a smooth nylon that feels more or less like a Merino-blend t-shirt you'd get at REI or something.
Inner face is MAPP Merino. Nice, soft, and not itchy at all.
Paneling:
The multi-piece construction makes the hoodie flexible and easy to move in. There's panels that run over the shoulder and down the side seam that all meet in the shoulder/pit area.
pit seams:
Hood
The first difference between the new hoodie and mine is the hood. They've moved to a 3-piece hood rather than a 2-piece, lay-flat style hood. The 2-piece hood is nice if you want to layer something over it without having the hood flipped outside. It's a fairly large hood with good coverage, but I will say you look straight out of Assassin's Creed.
Other Details:
I do have 2 small gripes with the Flux. The first being the kangaroo pocket. They use a mesh inner, which I like, but the inside face of the mesh is almost like a wooly, fleece material that A) catches on things you put in the pocket, and stays wet. Not totally sure what the reasoning is behind this is, but the outer face of the mesh is a smooth nylon which I'd personally prefer throughout.
inner mesh:
My other gripe is the tags. They feel cheap and appear mostly like an afterthought. The fabric tag shown above is already fraying, and I've only worn this maybe a dozen times with one wash. Would prefer heat-transferred or even screen-printed labels probably.
Has your basic thumbholes as well. The sleeves run a bit long in order to make these more functional.
At the end of the day, it's a basic hoodie that's been elevated with some nice functional details and nice nice fabric. It runs a bit longer than a normal hoodie, and the bottom hem isn't elastic, so it drapes somewhat loose. The 2014 version is supposed to be even longer. There is a slight drop back hem as well, but it's only maybe an 1" or so longer in the back.
There's a bunch of similar Merino hoodies out there, (Icebreaker, Finisterre Fiske, MW Faroe) but with the recent price-drop down to $135 it's the cheapest one with arguably the most detail (granted it's not 100% wool).

I may have been a bit misleading with my explanation, because there is certainly a significant difference in quality and look/feel between the two formats. MF is a higher fidelity film in that the quality is "better" by simply being larger, but as far as how the 2 films interpret light and color, it's more of a personal preference.
I pay upwards of around $18/roll for developing and hi-res scans. Some people will offer low-res scans for cheaper but I find it's becoming rarer because it costs them the same amount of labor to do it either way. Taking into consideration a single roll of MF film costs roughly $5, and there's usually an extra charge for B&W developing, it essentially costs you between $1.50-2.00 every time you press the shutter.
It's definitely an investment, and it's really up to the individual to decide whether or not it's worth the money. I personally enjoy the results that only MF film can produce, but I'm also pretty selective about what I choose to use my Hasselblad for and what to do digitally. I probably developed 20 rolls last year, but clicked the digital shutter 20,000.

Fuego,
There isn't really a significant difference between 35mm and MF as far as technique and know-how go.
If you're competent in how to use a camera it's more a choice between the look of the different film types and your willingness to spend more of less money.
You can get into 35mm on the cheap and still end up with a really nice setup. You could get a Canon AE-1 for under $100 or step up to something like a Canon F-1 or Nikon F3 for $3-400.
MF is categorically more expensive. Cheapest viable route in my eye in a Yashica Mat 124G which you can get for sub-$300. It'll get you quality results, but it's pretty limiting as you can't swap lenses or anything. If you're really planning on investing in film and MF, you really should just go all the way with either a Hasselblad 500 series, Mamiya 7 II (their slr's are good too, just massive), or maybe even a Bronica SQ-A or something. All-in-all you're looking at spending $1000+.

It's a little sad how much of this is essentially a direct lift from Outlier. Same site layout and everything.
