What's the maximum stretch you can get from an average pair of Samurai 710's (I think they're the Texas cotton)? How far can they be sized down?

Not cool.
Back to the thread please.

Richard Brautigan was sometimes considered a Beat writer, but he definitely had his own style and approach. It’s said that he left a bar one night and drove back to his coastal home in northern California. No one saw him again for two months. When some authorities finally went to check on him at his house, his body was found with the head torn off by a self-inflicted gunshot wound. The body was badly decomposed. The only purported suicide note read, “Messy, isn’t it?”

don't tempt me haha, I'm trying to save on unnecessary purchases, but good luck with the sale!

They look great, but you should name your price.

ninja, if they're suede they will stretch a lot, just wear em for 2 or 3 days.

I just got this, it's incredible. If you're into 80s stuff, I'd definitely recommend.

Hot soaked, or so I'm told, because they're the raw version. I don't know any more details than that, no idea how long or hot etc. I should probably ask the seller, but I think he might have bought them after another original owner had done the soak.

That's what I thought, seems pretty huge post-soak. Maybe they haven't actually had a soak.

On the topic of shrinking raw PBJs, how much can you realistically shrink a pair of XX-005s? I got some tagged size 30s today which were listed as raw and hot-washed once, but the waist was over 2 inches bigger than listed, just over 33". I need to lose at least an inch, preferably pretty permanently. Will this be possible if they've already been soaked once?

Sorry, I said that in a pretty ambiguous way, these are my full-time, everyday jeans at the moment, I got them from someone who bought them back in 2007 and didn't wear them, so this is a current update on a pair of jeans that have been unworn for 3 years and just started to get worn now.
(Although, having said that, I've got a pair of PBJs on the way so they will have to rotate with them before long...)

I like tapered cuts, but those look fine, kirivin. Keep 'em as they are!

Dkatz, the bike is a jumble of semi-vintage bits, I got it second hand and it had been powdercoated so I don't know what the frame is, but the I'm rolling on two entirely mismatched wheels (Wolber and Mavic rims), Shimano Deore DX groupset bits, old Sakae cranks, stem, bars etc and some budget hipster bits like the Charge saddle and tape, as well as improvised wine cork bar plugs. It's no masterpiece of expensive bike-building, but it does the job. I use it just about every day and I'd be lost without it!
Riff, I can't rep you more, but the Sammies look great!

yeah man, they fill me with happiness every time I take off my jeans!

Today, my jeans hung out while I rode:
Found this tree and just had to climb it. Eventually made it via the branch on the right.
Gained a new perspective from up there...
Had a quick wash in this random basin I found, not sure where the water comes from, but it was crystal clear and cold enough to freeze the balls off a brass monkey.
A well spent morning.

Quick evo on some of the Rakers from way back in 2007 (pretty sure they're the Cone Mills ones), they've been lying low for 3 years.
About 3 months of pretty regular wear, no wash.

Crosspost from Ande Whall thread.
2007 Cone Mills Rakers, 3 months of fairly regular wear, no wash.
Starting to get a pocket-bag fade...
