Yes, I did have it drilled for the rack, surprisingly easy. I know the gearing is hard, but I'm usually fine with it on the street, I just race everywhere I go and unfortunately have had some close calls, actually got hit by a car last march (his fault though). that's why I re-wrapped the horns with a brake and liner, I just don't have an extra front right now.

My "new" commuter
I've had this frame since I was track racing as a junior. Some custom double butted steel iirc, I don't remember who made it cause i've had it forever, but it ain't too bad a frame. Took it out of storage about a year and set it up for ss cross and ended up crashing and taco'ing the wheels, so now it's just a commuter with almost all take off parts. notice the front profile racing hub that I had them anodize pink for me, and the old ultegra cranks. running a 52-16 on streets which is usually fine, but am adding a front brake due to a few idiots who do not look when they drive. recently got new koki panniers, which are awesome on her. It's a little small cause I'm 5'11 and it's about a 54cm but I don't really mind it on my 2 mile commute

Are you racing? Are you a big guy? the appeal of the dura ace cranks in my mind is the stiffness, but if you want that, you could even just buy omniums and upgrade the bearings. the appeal of campy in my mind is the fact that they'll last forever. shimano cranks be heavier and need more servicing and it'll be harder to do that because, if I'm not mistaken, they are the only shimano cranks that do not use hollowtech bb's. so you're stuck buying that shimano one any time you wear it out. Campy isn't about to change their design because those cranks have been pretty much the same forever. and Campy is sexy.

been riding 150 miles a week to work and stuff.. in that time my rear wheel has taken a few hits leaving it a little wobbly with some loose/slight beng spokes. should i:
a) buy a spoke tightener and straighten it out
give up and get a new rim
c) none of the above
well if the rim doesn't have a hop in it, just have it rebuilt. If you just tighten the spokes it'll work briefly but you'll end up worse in the end, likely screwing up the rim more. If the rim does have a hop, save the hub and have it re-laced to an open pro. It should be about $50 at any shop. Basically 1 or 2 broken spokes without relacing is fine, more is trouble.

Apparently Ive never learned how seatpost collars are measured. I think I need a 30.
Ymmv? Wow! What time of year was this?
are you sure it's a 30? that's an odd size for a seat post. 31.6 maybe?

Hey, so I'm starting this group up in Phoenix called the Desert Epicurean Society. We're a group of guys from San Francisco living out in Phoenix who want to bring the good food of the Bay Area out here. We started this club, which will be a non-profit only a few weeks ago and have a long way to go, but if you guys could take a look and maybe give me some tips about what to do with it I'd really appreciate it. Right now a lot of our blog posts are basically what we ate today but we hope to have more about how to cook and more interesting things. Thanks.

I bought these Spurr jeans at Bloomingdales in San Francisco along with another pair. They were both marked size 31, but these most certainly are not. The bastards wouldn't let me return them. The waist on these measures 29, and has a 32/33" inseam. These are the non-selvage $200 version, so I am selling them for $180 CONUS free shipping. And take this lesson from me, just because it says it's your size doesn't mean shit.

This is my Quasi-Pomp. I'm getting my hair cut in a week and was only planning on getting the sides and back shortened while mostly leaving the top, but I am open to other styles if anyone has suggestions. I will not use hair products though, I'm in college and barely have enough time for sleep, much less hair care.

it's funny, today is fathers day, my grandmothers birthday and my parents anniversary, so after doing a craigslist sell at 10, we're all spending the day together. first at the Alameda dog park, then on the beach (even though it's cold) later we 4 are going to House of Prime Rib In San Francisco which is cool cause I've never gone before. my Diors are in for a good day!

I have been using a combination of Bumble and Bumble creme de coco shampoo and conditioner and after using (and been very happy with) sumotech and L'oreal satin hairspray. Although I rebelled before, I would like a product that gives a little bit more shine (although not much, I chose these products because they are not shiny) and do not know which product would be better to change out for my wavy hair that I try to keep down and managed. Which should I change, or should I add a new product all together.
I particularly like the amount of hold I get form sumotech and it is a wonderful product. The L'oreal satin keeps my hair soft and works very well too.
Any suggestions?
