Do people really recommend sizing one down from your true waist size for samurai S0510XX and S510XX?Scratch that. I wear a 30" and I've been told by a samurai rep that I want a size 30 in the S0510XX. Does that check out? Said it would shrink in the waist to 29" and then stretch out to >=30".

What would you recommend? I'm looking for something that's a straight cut with room in the thigh. I thought that FH 3005 or 3009 might be a good fit for me, but I'm open to other brands. (I know they're shutting down )

Hey, folks. What Flat Head cut would you recommend for someone whose thighs are on the chunkier side?

I'm starting to see light shining through the fades in the bottom back crotch area of my BSPs. Basically I can smell a crotch blowout. Should I be preemptive about it and have them repaired before they even rip, or should I wait till they rip, if at all, to repair them? Also, anybody have an updated link to the 45 rpm repair method? The one in the denim repair thread seems to be broken.

Going to NYC in a week and looking to pick up a pair of X-011s at BiG. I sized tts 30" on a pair of BSPs and got a phenomenal fit. What size should I be going for to get a similar fit with the X--011s?

More of a technical question, but whatever. I noticed some areas on my jeans have sort of a packed-in sheen on them and haven't faded very much. Would washing my jeans refresh the fibers so they rub against each other causing more abrasion and subsequently more fading?

Have any of you guys hemmed really late into your jeans life. Say, like, 10 months late? Does it mess up the stacks, fades?

BSPs at 8 months. Probably 6 months effective. 1 initial soak.
...Wash?

Is there a comprehensive guide to vintage clothes shopping in New York City anywhere on superfuture? If not, I need help knowing which places to hit and which not to. I'm looking primarily for vintage westerns/chambrays, vests, buzz rickson-esque sweaters, ect.

Yeah, it's what I usually wear together, and thanks.
Yeah, excellent color coordination. What shoes are those? I'm getting tired of constantly wearing Clarkes.

wow those stacks are perfectly aligned
btw, what kind of boots are those?
His BSPs were the same way. I'm a big fan of the stacking.

I'm getting these samurai corduroy pants. I heard that BiG's sizing charts were kind of messed up. Should I size up? Down? TTS? I'm a size 30 and have an amazing fit in size 30 BSPs.
Just setup a Paypal account and you can buy it directly from a Japanese shop. Check out "Options on Buying Japanese Jeans" thread for a list of shops that will ship international. www.Clever-ID.com might have what you are looking for also.I contacted BiG and they said that for no extra cost they could special order another shipment of them from Samurai. I just have to make a commitment to buy, which works out better for me.

Anyone know a good place in the states to buy Japanese selvedge chinos or corduroy pants? I was going to get the sammy tan corduroys from BiG, but the only size they have is a 28.

Hey, folks. Are there any shops in New England that carry Japanese brands these days?
