Feb 15th update...... again.
0 -
@ Citizen: For some reason I can't reply to PM's, so I hope you find this here!
They're 1947's, sized 32/36.
The original pair I ordered was 30/32.... even before the soak I looked like a sausage stuffed through a keyhole, so I returned them for another pair. Fortunately there are no pics to document this event! haha
Unfortunately when I exchanged all that was left in stock was the 36" length, but I dont' mind it at all. In an ideal world, my 'true' size would be 31/29.
The 32" waist has shrunk down, and stretched back out to fit me perfectly, I just wished they were slightly slimmer in the leg.

Figured I'd throw these up here too.
Merry Christmas everyone! Dec 25th update...
Much longer than I require.... and triple cuffed.
I still have to get them hemmed, but I've been too busy over the Holidays to have them done. Apparently there is a good place in Toronto called 'Studio Kims' on King St. that is able to do chainstitching, so I will have to give them a try!
Some great looking jeans, and fits so far!

runormal: Diagnosis - what tagged waist size did you start with on those '47s?
Sorry, for the late reply. I've just had a chance to log back in and check to see what's going on with the contest!
I started with a tagged 32" waist. I'll have to get some better fit pics, as I've finally started to wear them around.
With the difference in rise compared to my Nudie SJ's, I've gone down a belt size! I am sure that will change after Christmas

I really love the way the back pocket has been cut with the slight 'wave' on the inside edge.

Dec. 04 Update:
Here are a couple of pre-soak fit pics but unfortunately are much darker than I anticipated. By the time I uploaded them and realised this, they were already shrinking in the tub. I guess the stumpy silouhuette is a decent enough reference.
At a glance, they appear to have shrunk close to, if not more than 2" in length, and a quick measurement while damp puts the waist around 30". I still have to try them on, and am too much of a wimp to bear the initial shock of throwing them on damp.
Once they're dry, I'll see if I want to try another soak, or leave them as is.
For Reference, as of this evening, my pre/post soak measurements.
pre-soak.
- waist: 32 1/2" (82.6cm)
- front rise: 11 3/4" (29.8cm)
- back rise: 15" (38.2cm)
- upper thigh: 12" (30.5cm)
- knee: 8 5/8" (22cm)
- opening: 8 3/4" (22.4cm)
- inseam: 36 1/8" (91.8cm)
post-soak. (First soak using hot tap water, left overnight)
- waist: 31 1/4" (79.2cm)
- front rise: 11 1/8" (28.2cm)
- back rise: 14 5/8" (37.2cm)
- upper thigh: 11 5/8" (29.5cm)
- knee: 8 1/2 (21.7cm)
- opening: 8 1/2 (21.7cm)
- inseam: 33 7/8" (86cm)
Lost 2 1/4" from the inseam so far. They fit pretty well, but going to do one more hot soak, and hang dry, before getting them hemmed.
In hindsight, I should have possibly gone for the 31" waist, but I am sure these will work out fine. I guess it will have to wait until LVC 2012!

#29 checking in finally!
Dec. 03 Update:
Took down the BiG measurements just to keep track of how much the sizes change over the course of the contest.

I still have to get them downtown Toronto to have them hemmed. Apparently there is a place called 'Studio Kims' on King St. that does chainstitching, so I plan on trying them out. In case anyone was interested, just google the name, and the contact info should come up.

Hey Joe, I am having an issue contacting you via PM, but please add my name to the list with a pair of 1947 501's. Thanks!
