Thanks for the help about the Bean Boots everyone! I will probably be buying a pair in the near future.

Medine - I LOVE bean's boots. I have a pair just like yours but slightly shorter version. I used to wear them more than my Aldens in the cooler months, they need a resole now (yes that IS possible, bean offers the service IIRC). These things look great with the wider leg LVCs and khakis, etc. and are super comfy, IMHO. Good to see I'm not alone in likeing the Bean boots.
I love Bean Boots too. My dad used to wear them and my mom wears the mocs all the time. I'd like to buy a pair for the winter. Which version would you recommend, I saw there were different options like Thinsulate etc.

Erbs. Call Alden tomorrow. Tell them what's up. They will probably fix it for free. And find out about the half soles. I saw a pair of regular 405s on eBay that had been resoled that way and I'm interested.
I'm interested in knowing as well

sneekylyric078 Are those Dr. Martens I see? If so how what and how are they? Great set btw.
I have a pair of Doc Marten's 1490 (the vintage model). They are really nice for what they are. Probably the most comfortable boot I've had so far. Makes me want to down a 40.

It is REALLY irritating. I had a chat with an expert, one of the most erudite people I know, on denim and other matters, today, who gave me lots of new information on the XX division, a new LEvi's micro-label which includes LVC - whci from now on should get a lot more TLC.
We did speak about this issue, how on the 1915 and 1955 the oversizing is ridiculous (it's costly for retailers too); he's going to be discussing this.
DO take a look at the LVC thread, which has news about what's happening with the brand - there will be some big changes, especially with the 1901 and earlier jeans.
Awesome Paul, I hope they can make some improvements!
I was checking out the stuff in your signature, it was a great read

The new sizing kind of pisses me off. I wear a 29-30" waist so in a way I am screwed :/

Probably a tripod or some other stable object and the self timer mode.

2 hot soaks. drying right now..
I wish I could dry mine in the sun, but alas it is night time and they would freeze.

Awesome thanks Joe. I still have my invoice thank god. I thought I threw it out and I routed around the garbage can looking for it only to find it in my closet after haha

I was wondering about that too because my university doesn't put out their paper until the afternoon and I want to get on this around midnight :/

I would like to get a pair of Alden 405's for Christmas but I am unsure on what size to ask for. A pair of GT's fits me great in an 8 1/2 but it is slightly narrow. Anyone care to help? Thanks.

Aww this makes me so want to join
But I just got my A.P.C's :X
Put them on the back burner. Once you get the Levis where you want them then you can wear the APC's more often since this is a long contest :]

I just saw that I will be finished with my hydrocal sculpture a few days before the contest starts which is great timing since I don't want them to turn white, haha
