The LVC and Roys were worn on and off for years, with many washes each. The LVC were used for fieldwork and for home renos, yielding more fading overall. The PRPS I've had for 2-3 years; washed a handful of times.

I took up cycling spring 2017, and by the time I put my bikes away for the winter none of these jeans fit me in the thighs (comfortably).

  2. They probably don't have the smallest leg opening out there, but I think weird guys are about as tapered as they come

Agreed. If you really want more taper and you like the denim why not have them tailored as opposed to selling them cheap and possibly losing money?

    I'd say just wear em.

  3. Goodness, the fades on the winner look good, but all of those pics really make me realize how low the weird guy rise really is. Just my opinion, but few people can make that cut look good, especially those with larger waist/legs.

Wholly agree. But even if you have skinny legs (which I do), that doesn't make such a small rise comfortable. I much prefer the rise on my 47 501xx or my RS1. I'd like to try on some weird guy highs sometime. The low front rise obviously doesn't bother some people, but at the same time there's obviously been enough demand that they started to make a higher rise version.

  4. back when these first came out there was a color called vintage blue. anybody have these? i'm curious as to how they aged

I posted my faded pair of these a while ago, on page 12 of this topic now. Other's have said they faded slowly for them, but they faded really quickly wearing them as work pants.

The front rise on weird guys is too low for me, I haven't worn them in a long time.

  5. I washed my Roy's at my parents' house after getting some salsa on them, and didn't really think twice about their "high-efficiency" washer. I set it to hand-wash, which I guess combined with the load sensor uses very little water, and my Roy's came out with the weft dyed blue! Now my cuffs (which are rolled) are a grey blue. Thankfully it distributed itself evenly.
