  1. Quick question (and yes, I tried search, but it's fucked), before now I've only seen raws with "Made in Japan" or "Made in Italy" on the inner tag, but I just got a pair that says "Made in Maroc".

What's that all about? They look / feel just like my MIJs.

    Thanks.

Apparently the made in morocco jeans are absolutely terrible quality. There was a discussion about it some 20 or so pages back. I don't know personally though, but it's price is an indication that it's of cheaper quality. And most things made in morocco are of lesser quality than italy and japan.

  2. ^ Yeah dude it's their job to help you out. Wanting to try on jeans is not annoying. Any sales person who cant handle customers and cops an attitude deserves an attitude right back. Or at least you know you can ask to try on anything you want cuz what are they gonna do? kick you out? Who cares?

I agree with this dude hongchai. Although I understand where you're coming from...Singaporean store assistants are only helpful to people who look like they're going to buy something. Snobby and pretentious culture. Very irritating. But take advantage of the fact that you have a Dior store in your city...go try them on at the store. Who cares if you feel bad. Would you prefer to feel bad or waste a couple hundred dollars?

Personally...the size you wear in most jeans (waist size) and -3. That's what I did (true size 32 -> 29).

    Re-IMG_1556-crop-horz.jpgposting if this helps you:

  3. you asked for 34 MIJ but got a 36 MII and you cant refund? i hope you didnt put down alot of money for those because you just got majorly ripped off.

i suggest you go to the dior store at orchard ion and try on a few pairs, that way you'll know for sure which pair looks good. why would you order some from a crap seller when you have a dior store in your own city? :\

  4. Nice fades for only 3 months of wear.

Just out of curiosity, what do you do when you wear them? I got mine for nearly a month and there's no sign of fades. There's only creases.

    Peace!

That's normal. I didn't get any fades in my first month either. I don't really wear them that hard, just around uni, shopping and daily stuff. I don't work or skate in them if that's what you're thinking.

    Here's a few more pics.

i hate wallet fades on back pockets so i always take mine out of my pocket when i sit down...but i still get them :(

  5. That bird on your chair must of gave you a damn good morning wake up lol. Would of freaked me out.

Went to take some fit/progress pics of my raws today so I thought I might as well post in this thread. Hit the beach with some nice scenery shots, enjoy :)

  6. My Dior Homme 19cm MIJ raw indigo, size 29. Pictures at 3 months of wear.

I'm 174cm (5 foot 7) and 68kg. I generally wear jeans at size 32 on other brands, so I went 3 sizes down on this pair.

Alterations: Hemmed, because I'm not that tall. Removed leather Dior tag, because I didn't like the fade it was producing at the back of the jeans.

    Hope you like them :)

  7. yep, no kidding. all 13-20 yr old peasants, shirtless with flags draped over their shoulders. i couldn't have felt any less proud of my country today.

    good massage though.

haha yeah australia day is the day that people like myself, australian born asians, prefer to hide at house parties lolol. the streets are DANGEROUS.

funny that the aussie day is the day of the year with the most racism. i thought we were multicultural? lolol.

on other news...i expect my mail from FT to come tomorrow. damn you public holiday :(

  8. no you're wrong.

down 2 is hella slim. don't go down any further please, anyone.

please dont just slam some1s opinion down and state yours. everybody has different opinions on what look and slim-ness to go.

PLENTY of people on this forum have gone down 3 sizes, some 4. None of them have any problems. I went 3 down and if I wasn't wearing a belt, they wouldnt stay on my waist. that goes to show that they do stretch significantly enough to downsize 3.\\

    added:

for the fuktard that neg reps me for saying people size down 4. why dont you guys read and research the jeans a bit more. ie. read the very first post on the page. so many retards here.

Step 4: Subtract 3 or 4 from this measurement. I saw 3 or 4 because of the fact that diors are 2 inches larger than tagged. Subtracting 2 to start out with will account for that, while the extra 1-2 inches account for stretching. If you want a pretty basic fit in the waist / are getting a pair of diors that you know have a tendency not to stretch much, subtract 3. If you want a super slim fit / tighter upper block / are buying some diors that you know will stretch a bunch, subtract 4.

  9. Hey guys. I'm new here so i need some advice from u experts.

I'm thinking of getting a pair of MIJ 19cm indigo but have problems with the sizing and hope to get your 2 cents worth.

So if i am a size 26 in apc Petit Standards and a size 28 in a nudie thin finn dry coated., what size should i get my MIJs??

    cheers. =)

if you read the first post of this thread, it will solve all your answers.

measure a pair of your jeans that fit well. whatever that size is, go down 2 (for normal), 3 (for slim) or 4 (slimmer).

for example my true size waist is 32. i went for a size 29 because i like slim.

  10. i agree. they look a bit loose if they're your first time wearing them. but if you like rocking it baggier then that's all good too.

might want to pick at your stacking a bit before it settles down so you can get a nicer looking stack.

  11. The David Jones thing is interesting too; after they updated the one in Melbourne one and included lots of local labels including Beat Poet I wonder if the exposure actually increased sales from the general public rather than turn away the people who are actually affected by that sort of thing. Like, when a label goes mainstream there are always people who are turned off, but does the exposure override that in terms of sales?.

I think they would definitely earn more sales from going mainstream. It's just like underground music bands, you love them when they're underground and do their inspirational stuff. Once they go mainstream, sure they earn more money and more people support them...but a lot of the time their stuff changes to suit the GENERAL crowd. It gets more watered down, so you can satisfy more people, piss off less people. That's exactly the same with clothing.

I for one hate it when you support a certain brand for years, being one of the few people wearing its stuff...to later have it then stocked in David Jones. However, the less you want to see people wearing the same stuff as you...the higher the price you have to pay. Sad way that the economy and fashion are so mixed together. On the other hand, if you pay retail money for RO hi top trainers like I did and see brands like Virgin Blak make complete rip offs...that shit is infuriating (haha major sadface).

Bassike and Skinny Nelson have become popular, i agree, probably due to their affordability for what you get (essentially value for money). Personally their stuff isn't that outstanding though.

  12. Semi-random question, which type of or specific Aus label do you think is doing the best (or at least, doing well) right now? In the general "street" category, ie includes brands like claude maus, limedrop, st augustine, CON etc, along with the more "mass appeal" stuff like the ripcurl, travisty, industrie, jeanswest etc.

Here on sufu we're more savvy with what's actually quality stuff but does the mainstream population of screen printed semi-fluoro T-shirt , pre-distressed bootcut denim people still make up a significant enough portion of the buying demographic that shits all over the more respected local labels (that aren't too niche) in terms of sales and revenue?

I reckon the Australian label that's doing very well recent times in CON. But then again, what does 'doing well' really mean when it comes to fashion? To an extent, when a brand does so well it ends up getting stocked everywhere, like Ksubi in David Jones. Which of course then leads to its very demise because that's exactly what fashion enthusiasts hate most...a brand being too popular and too obtainable. There's a really fine line that labels tread on in this industry, which is why choosing retailers is so important. If this is not what you're talking about...excuse me as I have just been ranting.

Lol at last statement/question. You forgot the obsession with displaying belt buckles like medals.

  13. thanks for your help : ) really appreciate it.... does it apply to MIJ DH raw denim too??? i saw some thread saying MII stretch a lot and MIJ stretch nt much....

    thanks again : )

yeah pretty much what kkurenaii said. most people wouldn't recommend sizing down 4 unless you've tried on the jeans before.

don't get MII as they are of lesser quality denim and the back pockets are smaller. the MIJ back pockets JUST fit my wallet now...if the pockets were to be smaller it would be crap.

haha and don't even THINK about getting the morroco ones.

  14. visited the dior store here in singapore, and i've got to say the staff that dealt with me are highly uneducated. first he said 17.5cm raws will be coming to stores from the spring summer collection and that they're the first batch of true raws without spandex, coming in indigo and black. then he says no 17.5cm ain't coming just the 19cms and hes never heard of 17.5cm raws.

christ. i so need a proxy if i'm ever going to get my 17.5cm raws

yeah, it gets a bit ridiculous when you know more about the products than the sales people in high end retail stores. very similar thing happened with me in a burberry store. a sales person tells you one thing, and the next person tells you something totally different. how embarassing for them.

'first batch of true raws without spandex'...what is that supposed to mean? last time i checked my raws don't have any spandex in them lol.

  15. just a shot of my sz 28 mij indigo raws. bought on 12.4.08 - washed in cold at 9 months and whenever I felt like it after that.

they're starting to look more and more like Jakes.

    59.jpg

It's pictures like this that makes you keep up the tedious work on your own pair. Absolutely awesome.

  16. ok guys. PLEASE don't kill me when I ask this.. it is another size question...

Where you wear your jeans is 31.5? That would mean your true size is 31.5. Majority of people say go down 3 sizes, some say 2 some say 4. I say go down 3. That would mean 28. But since you are a maniac fan of SKINNY jeans you could try 27. Keep in mind, dior 19cm are not meant to be skinny jeans. They're slim fitting.

Going for a 26 sounds like suicide if you're really a 31.5 inch.

sz 26 = 28 inch. Meaning you want to stretch your waist 3.5 inches? Sounds crazy.

  17. if you size down three the crotch will blow out and the denim will be very weak after 6months or so.

Seriously, its not that hard. Size down 2 for raws, if you want them slouchy, size down 1. If you want to regret your purchase, buy TTS.

PLEASE, stop with the sizing questions. AT LEAST for the 19cm cut. There is ample info, no need to shit up the thread.

i'm at about 5 months after sizing 3 down. although its not the stated '6 months' there's no crotch blow out and no weak denim parts. there's no need to complain about people giving different opinions because its what works for each person. sorry at the moment that i'm all talk. i'll try and get some pics up tomorrow.

Though i agree with chubby, if you want to play it safe just size down 2 for the raws. Going 3 down worked for me since i could be bothered stretching it, but lots of people on this forum testify that they just cant do it because its too uncomfy.

  18. if you dont believe in sizing 3 down its probably because you havent tried it. my sz 29 raws started off at roughly 40cm width at the waist. they're now 43.5cm.

its as the majority of posts say, dior's are vanity sized. if you only go 2 sizes down for 19cm then you're practically going true size and not accounting for any stretching. thats my 2cents.

  19. i'm unsure of whether to go for a 26 or the 27, i don't want to order two pairs and send one back.. so i'm trying my best to work it out comparing to my other jeans.

i have size 26 new cures and these are too tight, so size 27 would do.

size 28 nudie slim jims are too big in he waist (real waist size is 30 and they are real loose) but perfect in the thigh and then i get them tapered.

i also have 28 MIJ washed and these fit pretty much how i want.. so if i size down 2 then 26 i hope is the ones i will go for.

best way to do this is. true waist minus 3. 30 true waist = sz 27.

going 4 sizes down is probably plausible...but they're gonna be the most uncomfortable jeans u'll ever wear for MONTHS before they fit perfectly. im 32 true size, and got a sz 29. fit perfectly :)

  20. Hi guys!

I would appreciate some help with a pir of black waxed destroyed I own. I am about to sell or trade them as they are to big (W30) but I am unsure of the season and correct name of the pair.

I took some pics and uploaded here http://www.flickr.com/photos/45998669@N08/

    All help with identification appreciated!

    /K

kallun: quite sure they're from the 'strip' season of 04. destroyed jeans. they are an awesome awesome very awesome pair. how much u selling for? i'm interested :)

helbreath: you did it right. its fine. i got a sz 29 MIJ raw as well. when i first got them i could only do 3 buttons up. now they've stretched to about 43.5cm

  21. Can anybody source a pair of Rick Owens High Top Trainers for me? Or point me in the right direction? Really looking for a reliable source, thanks :)

Mihara is killing it as usual. Those braids on the shirts are just killer.

  22. I'm ~35" waist and I'm looking for a pair of 31 Black MIJ 19s...Bring on the stacking!

yeah i'm with the others. if you're true size 35, i wouldn't size down 4. if you're adamant on going down that far i suggest you try on a pair of 31's first. i wouldnt be surprised u damage the denim before you end up stretching it.

most people have a hard enough time going 3 sizes down.

  23. Another guy has a perfect fit on his indigo MIJs. He said that when he bought them they were obscenely tight, and he couldn't do the top two buttons. Now they're loose on his waist and have perfect slouch.

    This guy has it right.

I'm a true size of 32. Diors are vanity sized, so they are marked 2 sizes below its actual size. This means a marked 30, will actually be 32 inches.

I got a sz29 19cm indigo raws. When I first wore them, I couldn't do up the the last 2 buttons AND the clasp (only could do up the bottom 2 buttons).

Joqur why don't you do some research like everybody else on the sizing that you should get. Generally, slim fit is 3 sizes down from your true size.

  24. here's an update on my 19cm diors.

actually i just discovered my first crotch blowout...

2 years, about 16months daily wear, 0 washes, 0 soaks

    aIMG_3193.jpgeven the dior tag faded

i noticed this fading of the tag on my dior's already at 2 months. so i promptly removed the leather tag from the inside. im surprised nobody else did this since the square fade on the back looks weird.

btw billDE sweet sweet fades man. this is something that i'm aiming for. when's ur plans for a wash? +rep.

  25. calvinc: from what i can tell in those blurry pics, the fit looks quite good. you should get a better camera though.

advancedart: agreed. strip destroyed are ridiculous. wish i had a pair. or that kva would remake it.

on a side note: today my friend dropped a container of kfc gravy on the floor next to me. it proceeded to splatter all over my raws. ragequit.
