Been watching this thread develop for quite some time. okisan, these seem tailor made for your frame--excellent fit, solid photos!

  2. Here is my Sanforized Raker after about 5 wears.

    Size up by 1"

...but 1 thing that I found strange bou the rakers, is that the fit on my thigh is too tight however the leg opening is not really tapered. Do Rakers usually fits like this or its just my retarded legs??

The jeans fit you very nicely.

With regards to the taper...from the information on Ande's site, the taper is very slight. And this taper effect may be lessened by the pull of the chain stitch at the hem.

  3. I just thought I'd post these here. By the way, for those who don't know, as my screen name suggests my name is Mark. And I own a small SF/Bar Ayrea denim brand called oneculture. I've been wearing my Pulsars (version 1) for the better part of 13 months now...Just gave them their first wash yesterday. I plan to retire them so that I can start wearing my newer, updated model. That's about it for now. I'll post in this thread periodically.

    Cheers!

  4. Good progress so far, Benzak. Keep the updates coming, brother.

I'm going to do a fade progress update soon as well, with before & after wash results--I've been wearing my Pulsars unwashed for almost a year now. Although the jeans look great, I'm beginning to smell like a homeless dude, lol!

  5. Actually, I'm quite guilty of this :o. I'm totally interested in what denim guys are wearing. Sometimes I'll even ask what the brand is. My interest is more about surveying the market.

In any case, it's a relief to know that I have plenty company :D!!

  6. DSsized.jpg

This is quite easily one of the best photos in this thread! I like the art direction; how everyone / everything is sloped forward, even the car!

Looks like a still from a Russ Meyer film...AWESOME!!!

  7. It's funny...I *just* saw these this morning! I was over at my sewing contractors checking on my own production when I noticed the Naked & Famous sample out of the corner of my eye; they just picked up the N&F account.

Anyway, that leather patch is *insanely* thick, as is the 24 oz. denim fabric! It's an acquired taste I suppose (too much for me). It seems as though wearing jeans that thick and stiff would be uncomfortable. I'm interested in seeing someone break in a pair though!

  8. Edwin ED-47. 3 years old, 4 washes. Maybe 1.5 year of total wear. Crotch-blows. Shot in raw, slightly adjusted in ps and a little out of focus. should i post untouched pics instead?

GOOD GOD!!! Wow...these are great, man!

  9. Developing a great back pocket motif can be quite the challenging task! In fact, I think that most brands have fallen short of developing anything noteworthy. My four fav's are:

    1) I love the classic simplicity of Levis' double arc. Classic.

    2) I appreciate Diesels "downward spike" motif, as well as it's many variations. Creative.

    3) The Nudie zigzag is pretty cool. Cool.

    4) I also like...*drum roll*...True Religion's "horse shore" motif. Yep, I said it! Unique.

  10. sorry about the pics but just got them what do you think? yay or nay

these are grays 07aw size 28

i am 6 foot and weigh 63kg i wear a 28 in sams and a 30 in skull (could have gone one more down)

The jeans fit you perfectly. However, the boxers shorts give you a sloppy appearance.

  11. Hi Mark!

Well there are more familier faces to find other than me here on sufu ;)

Yeah? I'll look around and see who I bump into.

Almost half of my stock has been sold now, so that's okay since I do all sales myself, rather than selling pre-orders to stores. At this point, BDD is just fun doing instead of being my number one source of income. I'm slowly working towards a goal, which is to make a living out of denim design and development with my own label, and every small step gets me closer, which includes this first small lot!

    Benzak,

That's great! If you've sold half your stock, you should be proud! Always keep in mind that, so far, BDD is an unknown brand. So under those circumstances, you're doing quite well, bud!

You and I are in the same boat; I too am inching towards becoming financially independent with my company. I still need a day job :(!

    How is your business?

Production for oneculture's summer season is due to wrap sometime around the 15th (of this month). Orders have more than doubled this time (up 214%) and my product is going to be in more locations (LA and Chicago).

It's tough when you're independent because boutiques are reluctant to touch brands which have no brand equity (or connections). And I'm handling sales all alone, so needless to say that I'm totally stoked about the progress I've made thus far. The buyers placed orders solely because they really like and believe in my product; not because of "connections" or "hype". I never wanted to have to rely on those types of things. I want oneculture's success to happen honestly and organically...

My summer season is a tremendous upgrade from fall 08'. I'm really looking forward to seeing how oneculture performs this time around--fingers crossed!

I'm also working on artwork for a leather patch. The artwork's concept conveys the oneculture ideology perfectly...but that'll be featured during a later season.

Anyway...good luck with your future developments. Keep thinking, stay creative and you will win :)!!

  12. I suppose that there may be a niche market for this brand. But I find the imagery too dark to become widely acceptable...makes me think of depression, drugs and death/suicide.

  13. I actually dig PRPS. But I generally wouldn't pay 300 smackers for a pair of jeans....I stop somewhere around the $200 - $220 range. I'd have to catch a pair on sale like Monday did ($199).
