err...sorry to be a pain in the ass, but i have a boring LVC sizing question. I'm a size 32 in skull 5010, 33 in flathead stf, 31 in sugar cane. What size should I get for LVC 1947 STF?
The guy at LVC in san francisco said that this year the size was different - an inch smaller in the waist or something. It's kinda confusing.

Speaking of punk shows, here are some FH bsp 05s opening up for the dwarves

Woolite Dark or Mrs Meyer's? (for coldwashing flathead)

Any more 2009 fitpics? I can only find one, searching this thread. Is the 2009 the same denim as the 1966?
thanks

You could, but it would require reconstructing the fly completely. There is an extra flap of denim that is used for the button holes. Would be hard.
Yeah, upon further reflection I realize it's a terrible idea. Almost guaranteed to fail. Oh well..
Great thread by the way. Deserves bumping.

Hey I don't know if this is the right place to post this question, but here goes...
I have a pair of FH 310 that I hardly ever wear because of a zipper issue (falls down a lot)...
Is it possible to modify them to buttonfly? Who could do that mod? Bad idea?

Hey people. I haven't posted in here in a while. I've been wearing FH bsp05 and skull 5010 for the last 1.5 yr...
I'm really wanting a more classic 501 cut like from the late 60s.
So here it is: Sugar Cane 66 or Levis vintage???

Does anyone here have experience washing the IH Mini-Herringbone Summer Shirt? I've been wearing mine all summer and I think it's finally time for a wash. Maybe. lol
Here's the thing. Mine is a tad too big and so I wouldn't mind it shrinking a bit - but not a lot. How much did your shirt shrink and how did you wash it (cold/warm)??
thanks

Been picking up Pendleton shirts from vintage stores of late. Also have a couple of chambrays, one by albam and one by nudie.
Love vintage Pendelton shirts, but they are a little scratchy.
I see you are in London. There's a cool store in London that sells choice vintage workshirts. I think it's on Earlham street.

I have a dry bones chambray gatsby cap which I've worn a lot this summer. I just saw a pretty cool dry denim cap by nudie, but it was at Liberty's in London which is renowned for its markup. Does anyone know where else to look for this cap?
What other caps are people into?

i don't have skulls, nor do i ever plan to buy any. the whole cross-thing turns me off...but i am known to search all avenues to find denim-porn! im going to have to find a supplementary denim-forum, sufu isn't enough sometimes. any suggestions?
you're missing out on some great jeans. all you need is a seam picker to remove the cross.

yes you are right, i must stop browsing the internet while half awake. anyway, i will get the 5010 and go raw.
i read somewhere on the thread that i should size down when purchasing if i want a slimmer fit. my waist is a 34" (tagged size in skulls would be 32) but am considering getting the tagged size 31 to get the thighs of the 31. in your experience, will the waist stretch around a half inch?
Maybe I've been drinking too much Guinness tonight, but are you saying your true waist is 34 and you are thinking about getting 31" 5010??? IMO that would be a big mistake if you have thighs and balls. If you are true 34 , then you could size down to 33. I sized down 1" on each pair I have...definitely wouldn't want to go more than that.
I have a pair of one wash and a pair of raws. The raws are very stiff to begin with, which is a challenge I like, but they're both fine

do heirloom pieces still exist?
I wore a mint 1961 tuxedo on my wedding day. I wear my grandfather's felt hat sometimes. 25% of the clothes in my wardrobe are vintage.
I think there will always be people with an eye on the past.
And I fully expect my great grandchildren to fight over my iron heart type III : )

i am no troll people! i am just really excited about receiving my skulls with red tab after searching for so long.
Snowcap, if you had communicated better with Skull, I'm sure they would have sent you a pair of jeans along with a red tab...or maybe even 2 or 3 red tabs. They must have tons of them in a drawer somewhere. Do you really think they just threw out the red tabs. Pffft. NO WAY! You just totally blew it.

I have that exact same IH hombre shirt in size small. If anything mine's too fitted in the arms. I'm a 38 or a 40 chest. Probably should have got a medium. Hope it doesn't shrink at all. : o

The Self Edge showing is Saturday July 4th.. We'll be serving drinks all day and showing off the Fall collection. Come by, try on the leather jacket, have a few beers, do a wheelie down Valencia street on my motorcycle.
But can I do a wheelie in the bicycle lane, going the wrong way in front of the mission district police station?

Kiya, do you have the MF 09 preview collection in store today? Might try to stop by later to see it.

sizing question for lvc 1947's

fyi: against the (bad) advice of the guy at LVC, I got a 33 waist (he said i needed 34). after a cold soak, they fit perfectly w/o excess material puffing up around the thighs. top button does up without effort. 34 would have been too big. will try to post a fit pic soon.
