talk about og hachiroku. that's hella clean. i am actually building a 20v silvertop to drop into a levin. i've got it pretty much disassembled right now and am going to get the crankshaft balanced and blueprinted.
also, your jeans are pretty damn sweet. no oil on them? i've gotten countless oil spills and stains on both my flatheads and ironhearts. the trick is dawn dish washing fluid. it cuts through grease.
thanks, you have a ae92 or hachi?
Yeah, i am debating on going back to the 4ag. too much power with this 3s. i mean, 400whp+2000lb car is literally out of control. im thinking of building a hi comp 20v bottom end with 16v head for a fun dd/track car once this gets in a magazine.
yeah, you can see in the pics, i have oil stains on my ass and knee, i also use a mix of dawn and "all" detergent when i wash.

Woahhhh, funky colors! It's got that whole neon-blue-glow thing going on, I like.
yeah, its interesting how the colors compare with the other pairs on here.
look pretty grimey before the wash. hand wash or machine?1 hr hot/warm soak with detergent in bathtub with agitation. then 30min cold soak to get the soap off. hung dry overnight.

mine and my brother's jeans, x-post from the seXdbx09 thread
came home for the weekend. My brother (OG_M3) and i decided to do just put ours side by side and see how different they were. Mine has the belt around it. Both of ours at 6 months and 2 weeks-ish, mine haven't been washed and his have been washed once. the singular detail shots are of my pair except for the weird crazy nub-rip where the seams join at the back.0 -
update for me. figured this thread was calling for attention.
so i did a semi wash. took some detergent and did a hot soak for 25min, followed by a splash in cold water. smells are gone-thank god, and i think the jeans took it well.
it was different lighting in the pre vs post soak pics. morning vs afternoon, it was a cool day and took a while for them to dry.

Just worked on my car for the last few days adding oil lines, oil cooler, re-welded intercooler end tanks, fuel lines, and tuning. Man, my jeans smell, and are greasy and have some oil stains...maybe time for a wash?

I'm going to be soaking mine tomorrow. What precaution did you take with the patch?
i actually didnt soak the top of the wait till about 25min into the soak, it was wet from first putting the jeans in, but not submerged until 20ish min later. from then, just observed it every 10-15min or so. Moved it out of the water while keeping the rest of the jeans submerged. my hand felt like it burned the first time since the water was still hot, but it progressively got cooler.
i just remember someone on i think the db collab or the seXi04 collab ruined the patch by just dropping the jeans in the hot water, it completely fugged up the patch.

So i did a basic hot soak for these, being careful with the patch.
Some measurements i took:
Pre-soak
Waist 15.5
Thigh 11.5
Leg Op 7.5
Inseam 39
Post-soak
Waist 15.25
Thigh 11.125
Leg Op 6.9 (just under 7in)
Inseam 36

hey those look good, kinda lighter though probably because you're outside. shit tons of stacks should settle down after the soak. are my 29s significantly smaller than yours?
yeah, you can def. tell a difference. i just got done soaking mine, will compare pics and measurements in a couple hours.

update-ish
well, my new imperial collabs came in, so i decided to take pics of both:
some comparo pics between the imperials and db's:

just got in about 20min ago. took some pre-soak pics:
idigo (mine size-31) vs blacks (brothers size-29)
seXi08 vs seXdbX09
observation: the db's have alot more "heft" in them while the imp's feel lighter. definitely both are great pairs of denim.
Fit pics: Excuse the shirt, was washing my car when fedex came
just for referance, i am a size 30 in the seXdb collab and these fit very nice and snug around the waist and perfect in the thigh. will take post-soak measurements this afternoon.

Price for the SEXI08 is $345.. producing them in Japan and using the type of denim which we did raised the costs on this one.Yup, they run true to size, they come +1" over tagged size and shrink to the tagged size.
oh dear. better get this job thing goin. cant wait:)
