I tried size 29 and 30 (true to size) and decided to go for a slimmer fitting.
If you want more slim fitting, size down 1".

blm14: they must have looked down on my Uniqlos..
btw, does washing remove the shiny reflection from the jeans? My jeans seems too reflective...

My Uniqlo MIJ after about 7 mths, damn they're hard to fade. Probably I wasn't wearing as often.

Great fit there Conifurious, let's see how they fade on you

well i did use 160F hot water for the soak, and put them in the dryer to get that shrinkage, so i would think a cold wash wouldn't have quite the same results. i was kind of going for an extreme to test the sanforization, to see if i could shrink them at all.
still, they will shrink a little but should stretch back out to where they are now, i think at least. all-in all you might want to continue to wait for the soak though, it seems like 2 months is pretty fast for their first wash/soak around here.
cool.
the dryer might have caused most of the shrinkage effect. i'm kinda happy with my fit, although the stack/bunch on the knees sometimes quite annoying to see.
here's a few pics of the MIJ on me, the back pocket fade seems to be the only fading part as of now...

shucks, looking at the pics they seem to shrink after soak. I got my sz29 indigo MIJ for abt 2 months now, haven't washed or soaked before and it's almost skin tight now though they have settled down abit.
advisable to soak?

@ jimbok - Read the thread. Chain stitching is in there!
You did your chain stitching in KL right? How abt in Singapore??

From singapore too, still quite new to raw denim. Guys know any place that do chain stitching?

I don't know, I think this is a bit over simplified. There are plenty of places that make nice stuff. I have to admit that when the Japanese make something it is usually done with a sense of pride in craftsmanship. This can also be said of the swiss. But there are many nice things made in the west. How about nice leather (horsehide from horween), nice shoes from Alden, work boots, etc. I am sure Japan makes crappy stuff too, we just don't see it here, because we don't want to import it.
just to join in. swiss makes the best time-pieces too, oh and tennis players
every country have their specialty, but speaking of jeans, MIJ

that's so right, in my personal opinion, MIJ are made with great workmanship and passion, whereas MIC is rather otherwise. Being an asian myself, i really appreciate how MIJ products are so well made.
speaking of the jeans, mizanation i believe your jeans should be finished already? i wonder how the fit is like?

What's with all these unrotated photos.

Wow, nice fading, care to take a full body shot with the jeans?

mizanation, thanks for making this possible! Looking forward to ordering my first pair of customize jean by the great sugoi sensei.

Very informative thread, thanks for showing us every detail of the jeans.
Makes me regret hemming away my chain stitch... The normal stitch for my new hem will less likely to create the folding wave effect...

Err anyone knows where I can get APCs in Singapore? The list was last updated in 2007... thanks.

^ hey wait... Does that mean this belt is not 100% leather?

My true waist is 31, and my current pair of NC's are 29... It took a week to button the top, but the calves are still too tight. The 29's In PS felt two sizes bigger in the waist than my NC's, so I'm just gonna try the 27 PS for now. Do you think the calves will be tighter than the Cures?
turbo, I'm about the same waist size as you. Can you post your height and weight as well? I'm thinking to get the NS but not sure to get 27 or 28. My weight is abt 135lbs.

^ do you mean is too loose now?
I kind of sized down from Levis which were looser than this. But I wouldn't mind trying a more fit kind.

I'm coming from Diesel jeans and would really like to try out some APC, but I'm afraid my big calves would create some ugly silhouette. Wearing 29W Vikers 71B and 29W Zatiny 8AT.
Can someone recommend a better cut for me? Either NS or Rescue.
Anyone about 5'5 135 post pictures of your APCs? NS or Rescue would be great. =)
My current fit on the Diesel Zatiny 29W
