i bought my pentax kx around december, amazon was having pretty good deals for it, ended up pulling the trigger for about $600, kit lens, and a 16gb class 6 SD card.

a couple weeks later amazon totally dropped the price, i emailed them and got a 'one time rebate' for $60.

i had been doing my 'research', going the stores to see what felt comfortable, i just couldn't decide between canon or nikon so i went with pentax. ended up getting the pentax smc fa 50mm f/1.4 for $260 off pentaxforums, i could've gotten it for a bit less, but i was anxious.

so i did my first wash of my fh bsps about a week ago,

had them since mid dec., 1 hot soak, 1 wash.

bsp sz 29. i'm about 5'6" 135lbs., true waist 29.5.

i went camping with them and the were the filth afterwards so i figured now would as good a time as ever to wash them.

during camping, my arms look abnormally long here, in rl i'm proportioned.

when i got back, pictures taken in direct sunlight.

i must've read thru at least 40 pages of 'how to was your jeans' threads and 'what detergent to use' but in the end i just said fuck it, did what i thought would be good. i gave them a soak in the shower to rinse off some of the dirt intially and let them wash.

hung them out to dry, also, i wore them when they were a little damp.

and this is today...pictures taken in the shade.

it was too easy dealing with hide-san and sharpservice, can anyone recommend anything similar to a marlb 27 maybe even reds. or some good rolling tobaccy.

got a carton of marlb black menthols from hide-san the other day, they're like a smoother smooth, the menthol taste engulfs the whole inside of your mouth. i was disappointed to find that the actual tobacco is not black, but a good change of smoke. that's about it for now.

no soak, no wash, worn ~5 days/week since 2nd wk in dec.

i didn't do a formal soak but these have picked up some precipitation due to like dense fog, drizzles, rain, leaving them in my car overnight, etc.

when i first got them they were so damn tight, took me about a day to button them all the way, they're still tight to be honest.

we'll just have to see what happens i suppose, when i finally do get around to a rinse/wash.

there's a very vivid blue sprouting from the whiskers and back pocket, starting to show some in the combs but nothing too drastic.
