So at no point in this endeavor did you consider just sizing up and waiting a couple weeks?

No not really, first of I don't think an exchange would have been possible, plus a 33 would for sure have been too big everywhere but the waist.

Again, besides the waist, the 634SR w32 is really not smaller than the 634S w32 at all.
