Thanks Danny. I don't think 0.5" is going to be enough, so I'll have to change them for a 32 with a more generous waist.

Apologies for probably going over old ground, but how much stretch can I expect in a pair of XX-013 non-wash long-term?

 

I'm usually a 31/32 waist, so I went safe with a 32, although Denimio said they would send the pair which had the smallest waist measurement for a 32.

 

The thigh/rise/knee/hem are all perfect. However, the waist is 81cm flat, compared to their size chart average of 86.4cm. The waist fit is snug from the off, and after a soak will be tight.

 

Are these able to stretch past initial raw waist measurements pretty quickly?

Hoggreaser - thanks, I've given the marks a vigourous rub with my fingertips and they appear to be vanishing. I'm guessing they were starch marks then?

Admittedly I didn't really rinse them after lifting out of the tub as water was going EVERYWHERE and I just wanted to get them outside.

Would I be best giving these a cold rinse in the machine to get rid of the remaining starch, or am I good to go?

Bit of advice for someone who's never bothered with unsanforized denim before.

Just warm soaked a new pair of 710's in my bath. Did them for an hour, inside-out, and dried on the line, still inside-out, all day.

They've shrunk and slimmed down nicely (just need hemming now) BUT, when I turned them back the right way I'm a bit gutted with the results.

There just seems to be marks all over them. Not really fades I don't think, more patches and streaks where the indigo just looks dirty and smeared.

I'll try and get some photos when I'm not quite so angry, but it'll probably be quite hard to capture.

Is this just normal, or have I someone fucked something up?

I have a pair of BNWT (unsoaked/unaltered) 710xx's in a 31. Looking to trade for a pair of 32's in same state.

Got some 710's in a 31 on the way. What exactly do I need to do with them before starting wearing them in?

 

I know they are un-sanforized so they really need a soak - is just popping them in a cold/warm/hot bath ok? And how long for?

 

Once soaked, should I wear them wet for a while, or just squeeze out the water by hand and drip-dry on the line?

 

I presume after an initial soak and dry, I'll be ok to get them hemmed and start wearing?

 

Apologies for all the ?'s but I'd prefer not to fuck this up on a pair of $300 jeans.
