  1. That's the problem in a nutshell. The world is full of miserable Levi jeans that you can get for $30 bucks. You have that on one side and the Japanese doing what they do on the high end. LVC get's lost.

i dont think LVC are lost, for as long there are people like me and us who really believed in levis. Why ChuckO,you have a problem about $30 levis?look at the high school students here in america most of them are wearing levis 511,514 and 501 stf. Meaning levis target age are 15 to 25 y/o,most of them still asking money to there parents. LVC are for adults who can afford it. And for all of you who are worshiping japanese jeans, take off your LVC and give it to somebody who really deserves wearing it. To me jap jeans are nothing but a 2nd grade copycats.

    VIVA LEVIS STRAUSS.

  2. i saw some LVC 47s 2 weeks ago at the broadway store (was checking out the 40% off sale.) they didn't have my size, or anything close. generally i'm a 32/30 in the modern 501s, so i was going to go for 33/34 or 34/34.

i asked and they checked on the computer and said none of the nyc stores had my size.

honestly, though, i wasn't super impressed with them. they were marked at $100, so with the 40% off i would have gotten them at $60, which seemed reasonable. for $100 i say "no way", i'd rather pay twice that for sugar canes.

i honestly don't see why people pay so much for the LVC stuff, i see them for close to $200 online, which seems silly compared to the japanese repros available.

honestly youre so ignorant about LVC line,go back to youre jap repros(there copied from levis vintage)

  3. i agree to rnrswitch.... ed has a seroius shopping problem, most of them didnt even fit him, i mean look at his history of photos, all you can see if fat on the side, fat on the middle, short neck, double chin, fat here and fat there. sorry ed i finally got the guts to tell you the truth no hard feelings ed. seriously lose some weight if you feel good about yourself right now ,youre gonna fell even better if you lose those things.

Come on, dude has a serious lack of taste. He buys anything anyone tells him to or whatever he thinks people might want to see. He lacks originality and when he does attempt to be original... he flops, you ever see those Elephant hide boots he bought, or this thread, for instance.

Not to mention a couple years ago he was into dunks like crazy... not that it is a big deal, but to switch directions so fast, is a bit telling.

There are a lot of people on this board with some serious consumerism issues, but he takes the cake and does it horribly as well. He approaches it like this shit is a contest on who can out spend the next, and when criticized, he claims his critics are jealous... Just like stuck up cheerleaders who think people hate them for their looks, only Edmond ain't got the looks.

I don't know, I liked this board before it was a contest on who had the most rep points, pairs of jeans, sick boots, etc.

do they even make leather tags?[/quote

that 501 is legit, with leather tags and selvedge too. they called that washed "varnish" and the other one is "worn out". it fits like 47 with slightly low rise.

    great jean for the price.

  8. Just got a pair of 55's from Cultzim (excellent shipping...ordered sunday night/monday morning, arrived at my canadian doorstep on tuesday afternoon). Does anyone have the pre-soak measurements of their inseams?

The pair is marked 32x34, and after an 1+hour hot hot soak in the tub, the inseam measures roughly 31.5 inches. Being an inpatient idiot, I didn't measure before soaking, and have no means of comparison. How much more shrinkage can I expect? I don't plan on washing them for a while, and i'm trying to debate between cuffing until they've been washed a few times, or getting them hemmed right away.

the measurement of lvc 55 pre-soak is the same as the tag. i remember mine measures 36 inseam presoak, then went to 33 inseam post soak, then went to 32 inseam post several wash.
