  1. Finally got my pair in the mail today. I cold soaked the top of the khakis. Then I hot soaked from just above the knee and below. Hopefully I'll be able to keep plenty of room up top for my more athletic build while still shortening the total inseam. I also stretched the opening like crazy to make sure they don't taper down too narrow. I'd like to keep more of a true straight leg appearance with these. Unfortunately I don't have my camera right now. I'll post up pics when I do.

  2. Dang...maybe its just cuz youve got some extra length with that cuff and all but those look much wider from the knee down than my current 501's. How'd you feel about the fit? Are these more narrow than the "old" 501 cut?

I pretty much retired my last 501's cuz they were too tight. You guys have any suggestions on how to soak these so the inseam shrinks but still find a way to keep room in the upper leg? Id like to be able to actually walk up a flight of stairs in this pair.

  3. Hey guys so I just picked up a pair of khaki 501 stf's. I've owned a pair of the normal stf's and was wondering how these would fade. I've only seen one picture of a pair of khaki stf's and they were just soaked with no wear. My 501's seem indestructible so it'll be interesting to have a pair of khaki's that I can beat up., Anyone with khaki stf's feel free to post up your pics and share thoughts. I'll be posting my results with this pair as time goes along.

  4. sssold to a local friend of mine

I am looking to sell a belt of mine that is only 6 months old. It sports a brass quick release buckle exactly the same as the one sold by engineered garments, down to the cross-hatched detail on the release and belt keeper. The buckle has a slight patina to it, but can be polished away if preferred. The leather is a nice dark brown bridle leather with no scratches and is 1.25" wide. There is only the regular slight mark from where I set the belt into the buckle. I wear and 31" pant size and use the hole one to the left of the center hole, probably because I wear my jeans low. I'm looking to sell for XXX since it has been worn but is in otherwise great condition.

    Offers welcome, please pm

  5. to help set those honeycombs, spray starch or even just wet the back of the knees a bit with a spray bottle. then go walk up some stairs skipping a step. you could also just squat down so the back of the knees gets pressed together. Wear until the jeans dry. If you starched, the starch will hold the creases. If you simply wet them, STF's usually are stiff enough to hold the honeycomb creases pretty well.

I'd recommend you don't wash/rinse for as long as possible...and then wait some more. When you wet the jeans, the honeycombs are the hardest to reset and the denim will want to crease in new ways.

  6. Hey guys Im workin on a pair of jeans right now and am about 2 months in. I had a drink spilled on them that was a combo of water/vodka/and cyrstal light. I'm wondering if i can rinse them off without losing the creases behind the knee. From my experience every time I got a pair of jeans wet it was extremely difficult if not impossible to get the original creases back. Any advice would be great.
