If you want something roomier than your NS, just don't size down as much. The PS are cut way slimmer from the knee down.

my faulty logic was basically that

-i dont need(want) another pair of standards

-i want a slightly more relaxed top block (just 1 size up!) fit

-i wanted a straightish leg

-i dont like rescues

so i figured if i sized correctly it would all work out. ima just stop reading sometimes conflicting advice and order a pair, if it's the wrong size or i don't like i'll return it and lose 15$ on shipping nbd

petite standards true to size would fit about as roomy as NS down only 1 right? I've only ever bothered with the NS cut but I wanted a slightly more relaxed pair than the couple of down 2s I have, and I didn't want a 3rd pair of standards...

ok so I just grabbed some new standards in black from APC catalogue. They fit just like my indigo did at first, a little more comfortable and less stiff, but GODDAMN the new button blows! I want to know...whose idea at APC was that? What people saw and felt the result and signed off on it?

Because I want to go personally slap them in the face. I hate how thin it is now and how it's some wierd 2-piece thing that rattles flimsily. The flat face and thin button make it look cheap and the rattling makes me feel like i'm pulling on cheap jeans.

I'm sure that after a week I won't even notice and won't mind. But a detail like that on a 160$ jean that i'm going to wear for at least 180 days and probably more is kind of a big deal. In a niche market where details make the difference from brand to brand, you just shouldn't do something like that, however relatively "entry-level" you are. Minor annoyances make justifying spending that much on a piece of casual clothing so much more difficult.

edit: just so no one considering buying apc freaks out, when the button is actually buttoned it doesn't rattle. just pulling them on/off

i know redmoon makes them...but i'm really looking for something more reasonably priced, i don't really want to pay 90-200$ for something so small that will be sure to get scratched and scuffed anyway (the carabiner i currently use started out as blue painted alumimum--now it's just scratched aluminum).

Anyone got some suggestions? Or will I have to pay up for FH or redmoon?

Are there any good BLACK raws with a 38"+ inseam (either sanforized or about that length post-soak) other than Imperials?

I'm 6'4", looking for a raw slim-fit jean with a taper below the knee. I want *quality* materials and a nice cut, with a post-shrink inseam above 38". Dry Bones Red-D slims or Ande Whall grifters?

I liked my (sized down 2) APC New Standards, but the denim quality and short (for me) inseam wasn't so great.
