  1. Been needing to fix my jeans for awhile now. When SE says:

"The cost for repairs is a flat $40 regardless of what needs to be done to the garment and $20 if the item was bought from Self Edge."

Does this apply for multiple problems? My jeans have both knee blowouts and a couple of butt holes (minor).

  2. Hi. I'm a total noob when it comes to shoes. I've been stalking this thread every so often and want to try getting into them. I'm not really sure where to look though? I really loved the pictures posted by Paul T a few pages back but I don't know the name or where I could maybe try on/buy a pair? I think I really want a low top-leather grained type shoe (like the one below) if anyone has a good suggestion?

  3. Here are a few slim jeans that have a tightly woven denim, keep in mind that "heavy weight" does not equal "warm".

    Roy RN1

    3sixteen+ 20BSP

Iron Heart 301s-07BK (keep in mind these are warm because the denim isn't IH's normal 21oz denim)

    Dry Bones Red-D Slim

So IH's 301S slim selvedge non-overdyed isn't a good choice? Are any of those jeans stocked at SF? What size should I get?

  4. W00t sale in time for black friday!

So my first "real" pair of denim was the SExSC06. Two things i didn't like:

    1. there is absolutely no way you can wear these in the winter. I'm freezing right now and it's only 50 degress out.

    2. They faded too quickly/easily. After about a year they're pretty beat up already.

So I guess both of those problems simply come with buying a lightweight pair of denim. This time around I'm looking for something a bit heavier and will take longer to fade. I'm considering IH 301S, good idea? I had a Size 29 in my sugar canes what size should I get for 301S? Also, any other suggestions of some heavier denim?

  5. Whats up with denim prices these days? It was only a couple of years ago that top denim topped out ta $300. Now they're hitting $500? This can't all be inflation... are there just more people out there in the game - supply and demand? Really makes me think second of getting another pair :(

  6. Actually, not too many people know this, but the inch is actually smaller in japan. A japanese inch is about 0.85 times the American and British inch. I think Einstein said it had something to do with the speed of light and the time change. So when you fly over their you are actually growing in size and they are normal sized.

    uh huh

  7. Call me crazy, but has anyone tried having these tapered by a tailor? I'm going to have my pair cut to the same, or as close as possible, to the iron heart cyclist fit. Very interested to see the stacking and slimness on such a slubby jean. Pics to come.

    --Markmont.

I got them tapered and hemmed and I love the fit now. I didn't get the ankle tapered enough, so it doesn't "stack" very well, but it still feels a lot better than it did out of the box.

I haven't even worn them a week yet and I LOVE EM. Great job on these kiya :)
