  1. What should the buttons on LVC 47s look like?

My pair from 2008 are silver colored on the part that says Levi Strauss, but a copper color on just the thin part (the rivet). I've seen 44s and 55s that are a solid silver color for the entire button.

Most descriptions for 47s say they are made from zinc. I am pretty sure zinc is silver colored.

I understand the latest 47s are a solid silver color. No copper color.

What did original's look like? Both ways?

  2. I just ordered from LGC bridle leather natural tan with garrison buckle. But its getting made by BIll, one of his helpers from MN at LGC North. You guys get it from him too?

You shouldn’t notice a difference. Henry and Bill use the same materials and system. I have similar belts in the same size, made by each craftsman, and they look the same. One of my belts is 1 mm thicker, but leather is a natural substance. If I were really picky, the one by Bill was a little bit nicer in fit and finish. Really: same company, same belt.

  3. guys im new to this id like to purchase a real 47 cut 501xx what specific most nearest to the real 47501xx model should i get from cultizism?? help!

Is this a trick question, Ed? The '47 cut, of course (look for 1947 Dry Goods 501xx LVC on Cultizm.com).

I have the LVC '47 and the LVC '55. The cut on the '55s seems closer to my Sugar Cane 1947s, which is supposed to be very authentic.

  4. why did you size up 2 from your regular size?

The store that sold them to me said the waist was 87cm (34.25"). The only way I could come up with that number is if I measured the inside of the waist. I had also read that they shrink from tag size. This should have been the right fit.

  5. Before and after measurements of S510XX 21oz (lot 12), size 36:

    Raw measurements:

    Waist 17.75" Across (35.5")

    Front Rise 12.5

    Back Rise 17

    Upper Thigh 14.5

    Knee 10.5

    Leg Opening 9.5

    Inseam 37.5

    After hot wash measurements:

    Waist 17.75" Across

    Front Rise 11.75

    Back Rise 16

    Upper Thigh 14

    Knee 10

    Leg Opening 9.25

    Inseam 35.25

    Samurai website washed measurements:

    Waist 17.9" - 18.5" Across

    Upper Thigh 12.8 - 13.2

    Leg Opening 9.4 - 9.8

    Inseam 35 - 35.8

I'm really surprised that the waist didn't shrink. Opps. I usually wear a 34, so a little bigger than I hoped.

  6. Levis website is cheaper, they only charge $175 for a deadstock one, $5 for shipping. I just checked "Cultizm.com". They charge $179.99 plusing shipping to US. Since levis gives 20%-30% off coupon time to time, it is cheaper to buy from Levis.

BTW, Cultizm don't have my size right now.

Having purchased a pair of 1947s from Cultizm, they are actually $170.37 delivered ($150.42 + $19.95) shipped to the US. You don't have to pay VAT (19.00%). This is not only less expensive than getting them from Levis.com or the local Levi's store, but you'll probably find the size you need. :)

Dejan does a great job. I even did a return on another item, and that went fairly smoothly considering it was returned to Europe.
