  1. Hi guys! I've finally decided to buy a pair of 3002 but I'm not really sure about the sizing. If I remember correctly, Kyle went up one size on his 3009 and according to the size guide at Rivet & Hide on the 3002 I should do the same. Am I on the right track or should I go TTS? I'm leaning towards sizing up as the Pioneer denim shrinks a lot and doesn't stretch out that much, and just want some confirmation I guess :(

  2. My 0201 stretched back to pre-soak measurements with wear (or maybe a bit more). And Maynard is right, they are NOT sanforized. Some stores may have them in both unsanforized and one-wash I guess, but unless the site tells you specifically they are unsanforized.

  3. Hi everyone. My friend is in Japan right now and has offered to buy me a pair of jeans there, and I think I'm gonna buy the 2009 model. According to the post a bit up on the page it says to downsize 3, but according to Selfedge measurements I should problably go TTS. How should I size?

  4. i'm looking for a good quality t-shirt, but i'm 5' 5" so i need them rather short. from this thread i've understood that Whitesville are really nice, but there doesn't seem to be anyone selling them in Europe (if they are, someone please tell me). so i'm thinking about ordering some Velva Sheen Pacs but i'm afraid that they might be too long. measured my favourite tee and it's 24" but my chest is like 40" so i usually go with sz M. i've also looked at brands like Warehouse, Dubbleworks, Barns etc. what would you guys recommend?

  5. hi everyone. i'm quite short (165 cm) and i've realized in the last year that all my t-shirts, or maybe t-shirts in general, are kinda long these days. and as i bought my first pair of nice denim earlier this year i'd like to show more of the jeans than i previously have, which leads me on to this thread.

i've been looking for a good t-shirt model (like this one http://item.rakuten.co.jp/mix8699/10000805/ or the LVC 1930's tee) for a while now but haven't bought anything yet because of a tight budget. i'm pretty wide as well (not fat though, mind you) so i need a t-shirt that is both wide (or at least not slim fit), short and of high quality. does anyone have any suggestions?

also, as for not posting this in the small questions thread i thought this might be a subject for further discussion! what is your favourite t-shirt to your favourite denim?

  6. i have a question about wallabees and desert boots: does anyone here have to deal with (over)pronation and has found a fix for it? :( i had a pair of desert boots in brown leather a couple of years ago, wore them for like 2 years but ended up with a pair of really twisted shoes. or do they simply not last that long? i've been thinking about a pair of black leather wallabees for a while now and hence my questions!

  7. thank you so much rubyblue, that helps a LOT! i have no idea what tts i am, as the jeans i usually wear are pretty big in sizes but i guess around 29/30. but as you said, it really depends on your body form (and i have a, um, prominent ass) so i'll probably have to go up a size if i buy low-rise jeans. i tried 30" in the 0201 and they where pretty easy to close, so i'll try a 29 when i go to buy them but i have a feeling they might be to small. going for a snug fit and i'm like 5'5 so i'm thinking about hemming them to 3x 1-2" cuffs with minor stacking, they had a chain stitch machine in the store.

and the slow fading won't be a problem, i want a pair of jeans that i can wear everyday (which is also why the 0201 seems like the better alternative now) with like a black t-shirt and vans old skools or sk8 hi's. when i read your post i realized that i somehow thought that the waist wouldn't stretch out again after shrinking, which they of course will! thank you so much again. another newbie question: should i wear them in the bath tub in warm/hot water for an hour, or should i just put them in there by themselves and try them on afterwards to see if the waist needs some pulling? what do you guys prefer?

EDIT: found this a few minutes ago, i have no idea what it is but there's some measurements and a nice pre and post soak fit pic in the thread! http://li163-42.members.linode.com/t/132415/momotaro/675

  8. hi everyone, my first post here (sorry for my less than 100% English) and I've recently become interested in denim again after a few years of buying cheap jeans. I'm planning to buy either a pair of 0705sp or vintage label 0201 Momotaros after Christmas, as I've fallen in love with them. as for now, I think that the 0201's are what I'm going to buy although the battle stripes are really growing on me. but with the 0201 I have the problem that I don't know what size to get :( it's a local store, so I'll of course try them on first, but the soak shrinkage kinda scares me. for what feels like an eternity I've tried to Google how much smaller they'll get, but the answer to that question seems to be everything from "they're only partially sanforized, don't worry" to "they will behave as any other STF jeans, Gordon (from some store, BiG or BlueOwl I guess?) said that they are actually shrink-to-fit" and from 0.5 inch to 2 inches in the waist.

then I read somewhere that nordic denim house has the most accurate pre and post soak measurements and I found a comparison for the 0701 on the Hypebeast Momotaro thread, but when I tried to look at other pictures in that album it was a private account. and if I buy the 0201, I've decided to soak btw. does anyone here have the picture for the 0201 or can share some experience of their own, hot-soaked 0201's? thanks a lot in advance and merry Christmas to everyone!
