Roys SF1 - £200 - Christmas treat for yourself...
I've PM'd you.

Does anyone have any usable post soak measurements?

I think the reason to withdraw has come from a combination of two things that individually I could have lived with, namely the use of the natural unbleached weft and the removal of the black donut buttons.
One of the things that got me interested in this thread was the proposed use of donut buttons. I’d just bought some 1108XX, fantastic denim but I missed the donuts that are on my Roys. I was really happy the black ones were chosen. When this changed it dampened my enthusiasm somewhat. Add this to the darker unbleached weft which I don’t like and I think I’ll bow out and spend my cash on something else.
I hope this makes sense. And, for what it’s worth, I know that in 8 months’ time I’ll probably be kicking myself when I see everyone’s fades.

Hi all
This is uncanny. I've just bought a pair of 1108xx and the only thing i don't really love is the buttons - i much prefer donuts. And then I discover this thread.
How does one go about registering/reserving a pair? I would definitely be interested in the 1108 cut - especially at the price point mooted above.

I can assure you they evolve beautifully:
http://supertalk.superfuture.com/index.php/topic/47647-samurai-jeans/?p=3074938
This is the s0553x (or whatever) type III. I am 6' ~185-190 lbs and have a size 42. It fits, but quite tightly (I can button it up, but not comfortably), and I wish I would have gotten a 44, which is what I believe B_f, who is about the same size as me, did. The sizing is true to size, which means that it measures exactly 42cm across the chest pit-to-pit from the outside. Most suit sizing is not like this; I would normally wear a size 40 (American sizing) in most suits.
Thanks so much Bradl, Chubacca and Quoise1203 for replying. Particular thanks to Quoise1203 for the link - you've made things a lot easier.
Cheers

Hi all
I have some friends who are travelling to Tokyo on business from the UK in a couple of weeks. They've kindly offered to pick me up a pair of Samurai as I don't currently own a pair. I like the look of the s710XX. I'm struggling to find a store with an online site where I can see they have them in stock. Basically it's very kind of my friends to do this for me and I would prefer not to direct them to a store where they don't have the jeans.
I wonder could any of you possibly help. I tried looking for stores mentioned in this thread but have either missed them or the ones I have found don't appear to have a 32 in stock. Is there something I'm missing? Could any of you suggest a place I could direct them to?
Many thanks in advance.

hi, mally. I have the 1108xx and the 1109 and a pair of 1109xx is on it's way from japan at the moment. i have both models in the same size and they look similar but the 1108xx runs a bit bigger. as soon the 1109xx arrives i can measure and let you know.
Hey thanks, appreciated.

and measurement-wise, look at www.and-japan.com
they offer both models and have a sizing chart
Thanks. Will do. Repped and also Flash, thanks so much for posting the pics.

If you search back through the thread, Flash posted comparison shots of the 1108, 1109XX and the latest WWII cut. So yeah, not a comparison between the XX denim but close enough.
Brilliant. Thank you.

Hello all. I'm thinking of buying Full Count as my next pair but can't decide between the 1108XX and the 1109XX. Does anyone have both styles and could explain/show the differences in fit. I know the 09 are narrower but i'm just looking for a sense of how much narrower. All thoughts would be appreciated.
Thanks.

Better get saving if you plan to buy them there, they'll probably be £300.
So true.

Hi everyone. Is there any more news on the jean jacket and when it will be released?

Thanks Ranon, that's just 10 minutes from my office
I popped in yesterday. He's a nice guy. They also carry 45rpm.

I have a belt from samurai.
Went out and got a new belt from tanner goods just for this pair of jeans.
and neither of them fit?

One thing I don't like about my rn04; the belt loops aren't wide enough to fit my belt!
Any suggestions on what belt I should get?
they fit perfectly with Iron Heart belts

Just received my narrows in the mail. Fantastically made pair. The best I've had in a while. Just worried now about waist shrinkage. Not too tight pre soak can get my hand/fist down when buttoned up.
Anybody who has soaked want to share stretch info.... I.e. do they stretch any with wear?
Hi cmo
As you know I was really worried about my size 32's with regard to possible shrinkage. I have to say that the top section is a lot more fitted than the studio d'artisans I'm used to, but after cold and then lukewarm soaking them last night and keeping something in the waistband to keep them at the required width, everything has gone amazingly well. I've worn them from damp to dry today and the denim is without question the best I've ever worn. Its phenomenal. The legs shrink like crazy in length and I've decided to stack mine for a while and then may cuff them later when they soften.

Due to a not too welcome end of year financial hand grenade I now can't buy these. I hope someone else bags them.
