so u remember the dirty dirt jainzzzz
washed them: wore them into the bathtub. warm water. soap, detergent, rinsed, wore them for about 2 hours, then let them hang outside , then wore them more, slept in them for a day.
end result:
Started wearing in march. washed once at six months (smelled too much and filthy from workin on car / transmisison swap0
finally washed again after way too much welding and grinding.

I'm washing them this week. I spent the weekend up in auburn doing this:
wearing the trusty LVC's of course.
So either tonight or tomorrow I wash them. Probably tonight.
pictures do not do justice
basically covered in georgia/alabama clay / dirt / sand / oil / gross / hahahahaha

yeah i agree. You gotta realize, i work in the shop every day with these. they are my work jeans. I'm welding / grinding / cutting / sanding / working with composites, and all that crap, not to mention grease, oil, etc etc. they truly are getting their work on. What's pretty badass is they are outlasting all my friends jeans (who also work on the cars in their jeans as well. something can be said about a heavy pair of levi's. i'd love to get a pair of iron heart next.

not many pictures yet, i'll take some, but since working in the Formula SAE shop for the past two months my lvc's are absolutely trashed. i love it.

i have always found that the 28 and lower waists are 4 button fly vs the 29 and larger are 5 button.

that's what i'm trying to find out. either way i feel like they are being fraudulent to their own employees, by letting them think that kind of cut and fade is representative of a 501. Don't get me wrong, 47's do make a semi decent attempt, but the fading properties of flathead are a completely different realm. oh and there's this thing called the fit... yeah.. about that.

seriously.. i don't even know what to say.
FH 3001's > LVC ? coming from levi's themselves???
Spring 2008 Rivet magazine
Does anyone have the photo i circled in higher quality? Sydney, you still browse this forum often? Did you know about this ?

Choosing between these after doing some research:
jean shop classic fit
DH 21 cm/19 cm
SEXI 04
5EP
i want a slim but not skinny fit, and i'd prefer the one that holds up the longest before starting to fade. I'm looking for something a bit more tapered than APC NS, and not extremely tight with barely any leg opening ( like thin finns- i dont want something that slender). thanks in advance. edit: another plus is something with decently sized pockets, i hate not being able to use my pockets except for tiny stuff
if your denim collection and wardrobe permits, going to a black denim will really hold up the longest before fading. my evisu's are like that, at least. they're like, un scratchable. But i'm sure you already knew that -- someone like me would manage to forget somehow, howeverrrr

For a super tapered skinny fit without the best denim, diors.
For a slim cut with pretty great denim that will yeild very nice fades, skulls.
For a really good slim fit jean with a good denim, kmw's.
I would get the skulls, but that's just me.
This is almost exactly what i thought. Thank you.

same here. i'm shocked, i think the dirt on the jeans prevented the oil from soaking in ?
