So I'm going to try again. I've contacted midnight with pm and posted on this thread but I'm becoming too busy to do this thread justice besides on holidays when I have more time. If we get enough people we can go another leg but as for now I just wear them to lectures and the library...lol

About 2 months ago I was doing something stupid and had an accident where I tripped over something and(I think) broke some bones in my wrist. It broke my watch which had a stainless steel band on it, the band broke off the face but fortunately the watch still works.
Unfortunately, because I am stupid I did not go see a doctor or get any x-ray. Instead I went to CVS, bought the shittiest wrist splint they had and put it on with liberal amounts of bengay for the pain for 2 weeks. During this time I could not even bend my fingers.
Now, 2 months later my wrist is pretty much healed. I am pretty sure I also tore a ligament, which I'm guessing is still healing. I still can't do certain push ups but besides that it's healed.
Cheers for being lucky, and hopefully in the future not having any further wrist complications, haha.

I'll do my best to update every weekend.
I'm too busy with work on the weekdays to update.
Again my apologies.

Ah yes, the always required food photos by yours truly.
If you haven't already guessed it by now.
I fucking love eating.
And drinking.
Been trying to cool down recently though. Gotta stop drinking so much.
Chicken. I forgot the name of it already, haha. But it has some wine in it as well as gogi berries on top and some jelly stuff. Was pretty good, but I'm not a big fan of cold chicken dishes besides smoked chicken.
Ku gua! I used to hate this shit as a kid. But now I love it. Why? I don't know. It's bitter melon. A lot of people don't like it.
I love this shit. It's eggs with picked radish(or dikon for those of you who don't know what I mean by radish). I could eat this shit all day. Unfortunately I always forget the name until I'm about to order it and then I remember it.
Squid is always good. This is fresh squid with peppercorn sauce. Unfortunately, the hu jiao, or pepper was too strong and it really drowned out the flavors of anything else.
Afterwards we went to Ikari coffee and got some na tie(s). [Lattes]

Here are some fit pics.
The jeans started to do this weird thing where instead of them fading like they previously did on the whiskers/hige/etc. They now fade backwards. Like the whiskers turn darker instead of lighter...
Front.
Side.
Back.
Questions and comments welcomed.

This is Zhongxiao Fuxing.
It's where I hop on the train everyday to get myself to work.
This is the actual metro/train station:
Pretty crowded huh? This isn't even the rush hour time.
I love being in Taiwan and around my people. But unfortunately my Chinese is okay in terms of speaking and listening but my reading and writing is shit. It feels so strange to walk into restaurants and be able to articulate what I want but only be able to read some of the dishes. It feels so weird to have to speak rather fluently only to at some point have to break the fluidity to ask a question in English. It's a strange feeling; to feel foreign and at home at the same time.

Anyway, in regards to the free jeans remark.
I haven't found enough people so that we could have another year long run. More importantly, everytime I ask I barely get a response. I have also tried contacting midnight[the original procurer of the denimz] and he has only responded once. And since then he has sort of more or less disappeared.
So, if anyone has any objections I'd be more than happy to hear them. Otherwise, until Midnight responds I will continue the tour and keep asking for more participants and hopefully eventually we will have enough people to do another round.
I did not mean for it to sound like I am stealing the jeans. I have tried to contact the appropriate people and set up another round of the tour.
Anyway...the pictures are taking a while to load...the downside of using a dSLR.

damn this tour died lol, i just remember how much shit jskidder took for slacking for an extra month or so lol
I mean, I tried to warn everybody. I'm working fulltime here in Taiwan for a while. I can still update, but I am oldschool and I don't like to take pictures unless I'm using my dSLR. Which creates problems since I can't bring it to work so I shoot on weekends. Anyway, today I plan on visiting the 228 Peace Park. Was going to go yesterday but typhoon hit.
I'll try to update more, my apologies.
lololololol I remember thatMe too, I'm glad you guys are cutting me some slack. :/
Panda are you in Taiwan with the deeors? let's do a meet up with AkuraI'm down. Where do you live in Taipei?
so did this guy just get a pair of free diors cuz they're outta style now or not sureI mean, I guess sort of? I organized the tour for about a year so I guess that was a bit of work...
Anyway, I'm uploading pictures right now.

Oh dope, so you are attending the same thing that I did, but for a much longer term huh? Hopefully once I get a degree I can return to finish up my mandarin training. Gotta stick to my roots nawmean?
Anyway, I have good news and bad news.
Bad news: I haven't been updating a lot, I am not doing too well in school and they are threatening action, so I've just been studying a lot. Also, my phone(LG) decided to die about a month ago, luckily my friend had a really old iPhone that he gave me and now I can take pictures with it instead of lugging around my dSLR all the time! So I will try to update weekly with a random assortment of photos.
Good news: I just got an internship in Taipei and I will be there from June until July so we can definitely do a meet up. I guess the other good news is that I got a new phone so I can take pictures more easily, haha.
@Akura: Hmmm, I dunno man I think clubbing is pretty fun but I just can't go all the time. Plus, I dunno how old you are but I'm entering that phase of my life where I need to work a lot and have less fun. Where do you live in Taipei? At the Shi Da dorms? Let's grab some niu rou mian man, I love that shit.
Also, it doesn't seem like anyone is active on this tour anymore...so I guess if there are no objections I will take them with me to Taipei.

Well, I go to school in the states. But I visit Taipei whenever I can, even though I wasn't born there it's my home yknow. I love Taiwan.
But anyway, I maybe working in Taipei this summer, we could meet up if you are still there.
When I did attend school there I attended a special intense mandarin program at Shi Da, or National Taiwan Normal University.
Where do you go?
I used to love going clubbing in Taipei, but I'm sort of over that now. Prefer to sip on some bubbly and chat some cuties up. How's the country treatin' ya?

Here's a pretty sick picture of some graffiti I saw in Taipei.

Man guys I really apologize, I've been running into problems left and right...school is hassling me, my housing situation is hassling me...and no one really responded to keeping the tour going.
Unfortunately I really need to focus on my studies, so I'm just going to wear the jeans and take pictures, I apologize if this seems selfish but I've gotten no responses and I'll rock em and keep the tour going.
Also, I have no car anymore so I mean things are not going to well for me...
But I'll update as often as possible and if no one objects I'll just keep wearing them and trying to get them to fade.
I apologize for being MIA for so long, I've just been having a very bad 2011 so far...
If anyone has objections I'm happy to listen to them.
And Midnight doesn't really respond to my messages so I guess I'll just keep wearing them and running the tour.

cross post from world tour thread again.
Food from the food court right off the MaoKong gondola. Which is pretty great. It only cost like 1.67$ to go up the whole way, was like a 15 minute ride. At palm springs it was like 30-50$ I think.
Anyway, food.
Mala chou dou fu. Spicy smelly tofu.
I am not going to lie I cannot remember what this was, but I didn't get any of it. I think it's winter melon jelly.
Two kinds of chou dou fu side by side. I really like stinky tofu. Fried, with pickled vegetables. And ma la which is like in spicy soup base with duck blood(optional, but I love that shit).
Here from left to right is...
You fan. Oily rice. Like that stuff you can get at dim sum. Was made with special tea oil instead of lard.
Rou...gen I think. It's like meat soup/broth.
Last one is lu rou fan. Which is like Taiwanese braised beef, or beef pieces, over rice. It's bomb.
CLOSEUPS.

I'll upload pictures of the actual place in a bit.

haha... i don't like the arcs much, am a plain pocket person.
the denim feels nice and slubby, according to the sales person @ Take5, it's 15oz denim (which confuses me a little since i do not remember PBJ having 15 oz denim)
i will take pre and post soak pics of the denim during the weekend so you can see the texture. am planning to do measurements as well for those interested
i believe you can send an email to Take5 for purchase of their 10th anniversary jeans.
It should be the same denim and cut as the xx-005.
Just different details to make it 10th anniversary edition special.

Cross post from Dior World Tour thread.
Too lazy to edit.
Also, food.
Kiki's. It's a Szchequan place. Which is basically like really spicy Chinese food.
Don Puo Rou. Which is like fat pork thigh braised slowly. It's actually very good, but pretty fatty. The Taiwanese believe that eating the fat on this meat is good for you because the collagen helps your skin. It's nice to see girls eat this and enjoy themselves instead of being so self conscience. EAT FFS>
I enjoy to eat a well rounded meal with veggies. Plus, Asian vegetables are bomb, and they cook them right, in my opinion. Sorry, I'm not really one for blanched broccoli.
This stuff is great, but I can't remember the exact name of it...but it's like that stir fry that you can get at a lot of chinese places. It has the tiny slices of meat with bean curd and spice? But this one was a lot spicier, and the meat was prefried instead of stirfried. It was spicy as hell.
Hahahaha, anyone who gets a chance, drive out to the nearest 99 and get a couple bottles of this. It's really smooth. And matches up with most Asian food great, but of course the best with Taiwanese food. Nah not really, I prefer it with sczhequan food actually, haha.
Ma po dou fu nawmsayin? But really, I'm wondering how many people following the tour need me to explain what these pictures are in more depth. But more importantly...how many people even look at this thread...lol
Dan dan mian. This is going to sound weird, but it's basically noodles with sesame paste and some soy sauce, and the rest is up to the restaurant to make their own unique "dan dan mian wei dao"(sesamepastenoodleflavor).
Uhhh I'm not great at translating Asian vegetables into English...but I believe this vegetable is chives. This was one of their most famous dishes. Chives with little spicy bits of meat. Great with rice.
And this was the last dish that we ordered, and one of my favorites. Pigs feet. Usually braised for a long time in low heat to make the tendons and meat very soft. A lot of my friends, of all cultures, think it's gross to eat pigs feet and won't do it. But seriously, don't be a bitch just try it it's delicious and you will not regret it.
And lastly, if anyone feels like I post up too many pictures of food just tell me, and I'll try to include other stuff too. I just love food.

What about yours?

i've seen Takoyaki on the travel channel's Bizarre Foods with Andrew Zimmern. i believe the entire episode was devoted to Zimmern's visit to Osaka. one of those things that looks good, but seems like it may be a bit of a strange paring -- octopus and soft, wet batter.
Haha, I think that's why people like it. The chewy and firmness of the octopus vs the warm dough. It's similar to those large stir fried pancake noodles they serve in Japan. I eat them every time I visit my pops but I can never remember their name...but yeah maybe if the tour continues long enough I can bring them through the land of the rising sun once
Anyway, here are some pics of the actual jeans.
I don't remember posting this...but if I did then whatever, enjoy it for a second time. Somewhere along the line someone actually fixed the broken belt loop with some blue denim. Thanks. Seriously. I was afraid I was going to have to fix it.
They would appear not to have faded very much from these pictures. But that's because they didn't fade with much contrast, it's like a fade all over. It's kind of nice. I've been told they look like Gap jeans. I've also been told they look like the nicest jeans they've seen.

Yeah, thanks PandaDenim, looks like the 10th Anniversary - nice pickup. I emailed the other two stores a couple times each trying to buy them (from the US) but never received a reply. They look like great jeans - give em hell! Oh, and if you go back, pick me up a pair, will ya???
Weird, no reply. Well I'm not going back to Taipei for a while...which is actually why I got the pair of Samurais...but I suggest waiting a little longer for the email? Or sending new ones. They are usually pretty timely with their emails.

These supposed to be the grey 011 jeans?
Yeah. You can't really tell they are grey. In fact, the only way to really tell, and even then it's hard, is if you put them side by side with another pair of already faded white weft jeans.
But they do help make grey stuff better.
So...yeah

Probably Chinatown, or if you are more willing for a drive I know SJ has some pretty good spots.
Unfortunately, I don't know any of their names.
And I've had most of them and I think LA does a better job with stinky tofu. sorry.

I went to the see the red tide in la Jolla, I took pictures but it doesn't really do it justice. I'll post them when I get a chance but for those of you that don't know there was a warm front that brought bioluminescent algae to la Jolla and at night the waves would glow blue.
