YES!!!!! I would love to get my hands on the garment bag.
GTX garment bag is insane! Also wonder what the "special make up" could be.
It's a Goretex classic nylon weave/blend monitor down coat. It appears like a wool outer in a heather / charcoal gray.

have any of you eaten @ momofuku's mainline restaurants
i've had stuff from the milk bar which tasted very delicious, but i'm debating whether to take some people to noodle bar or ma peche. i've heard terrible stuff and great stuff. not sure if it gets crowded near midnight as i love to eat mad late
Most of the restaurants have gotten worse IMO.
I would recommend booking the group meals in advance if you're going to go with friends anyways. The fried chicken group meal @ Noodle Bar is stellar. I also enjoy the bo ssam & duck group meals @ Ssam.
That being said - I haven't tried Fuku or the new Ko. I would like to try the latter at some point. $$ withstanding as prices have consistently risen.

thanks for posting.
quick question: do pourovers dominate the offerings? interested in the pourover vs espresso popularity in jp.
i am also curious as to how blue bottle will do in tokyo. there seems to be a good amount of excitement.

Can you explain how you use mind mapping software?
Also do you use a notebook? I find that's where most of my friction has been. I would doodle notes and ideas on a notebook and not have it sync with the rest of my on-line notes. I was tossing around the idea of a synced on-line /off-line note service for a while, but thought it would take too much infrastructure and lag time.

Out of town unfortunately, but didn't expect a superdenim shop to open in my neighborhood.
Also thanks to the thread for the head's up on the Midtown Friedman's Lunch opening.

extreme fatigue is fine depending on what you're going for. more importantly, always be conscious of your form to make sure it's not breaking down.

There were very few coats. I snagged a peacoat luckily by far best value I got out of the sale.
Interesting, yeah there were a lot of unlabeled pants. I'm sure some were experiments; I just saw mostly what were probably slight sample variations so experiments might be drastic.
The one that I did think was interesting. I saw a pair of what I think were climbers in the thick twill fabric.

today was like my 2nd time bouldering and I almost nabbed a V2+. need to cop shoes asap and a membership
Keep at it. Excellent work.
Was anyone at Darkhorse Bouldering finals yesterday? First competition I've been to. Great energy, itching to start climbing again.

I knew you'd be the first one with this info.
Will take photos of espresso for Instagram likes next week.
I've heard good things about Barista as well.

You're probably best off checking out Dwelltime. It's a (pleasant) 10-15 minute walk from the center of the square and it's much more suited to the presence of humans than Barismo's main location. FYI, Dwelltime is Barismo's cafe--the other location in Arlington is their roasting/lab location.
Sounds perfect. Thanks!

Barismo.
Thanks. Seems like the best spot around but a little far, so I'm going to try to check it out if time permits. Hoping to find some places around Harvard Square / Cambridge ?

On the subject of hand grinders - I picked up the Camano coffee mill a few months ago on the recommendation of a friend who does wholesale sales for Stumptown. I was originally considering a Hario but I like this one better because the beans dont hop all over the place and you can adjust grind settings much more easily. Aesthetics are subjective but I think it's a pretty good looking piece.
Thanks for posting.
Nice looking grinder. $60 + shipping doesn't seem unreasonable.
I'm probably going to end up purchasing the hario mini though - slightly more transportable. Although, maybe I'll pick this up later...

To the new guy trying it out. Your hands are going to take a beating its gonna be hard to look very badass with fresh hands. The good thing is she'll be used to newbies, AND your gonna have the best teacher. Experienced women climbers have amazing technique.
^^ truth. They aren't hard on the eyes either.

sorry just wondering if anyone knew if initial d anime is going to come back anytime?
or what date or something? =/
taaakuuuuumiiiiiii
Haven't watched initial d in so long. Those were good times.
Just looked it up on wikipedia. Really? Nothing came out after 4th Stage besides two OVA/films? I'm somewhat surprised; I thought it was a huge franchise.

Such a sexy scene.
I went bouldering twice at Threshold in Riverside a few months back. It was hands down the quickest I've ever realized that I liked a hobby/sport so much. If I could jiu-jitsu and boulder everyday in Irvine, it'd be da fukin shet.
And the women, my god the women.
Since you're in Irvine. You ever go to Rock City?
Bumping this thread. I've talking to this girl currently that has been climbing since she was 5 and teaches at the largest wall in my area. I want to start climbing and getting into it, but what can I do before my first time on the wall to look less...inexperienced?
I've been interested in the sport for years, but have never had the opportunity to get into it until now.
In terms of exercise? Maybe work on your grip and dead hang from a pull up bar. Chin ups / pull ups help too...
In terms of technique? hard to describe unless you've climbed a little, but probably biggest improvement as a beginner is to not try to muscle things with your upper body. Try to dead hang with straight arms more, climb up pushing with your legs, think through the problem, and how you're going to move on it.

you can unbunch your panties, because there is really little comparison between your situation and bj's - you are simply staying with your parents rent-free, whereas bj has/had millionaire parents his entire life. therefore, he had all of his bjj training paid for at the best possible camps with the best possible trainers, the best physio's, flights to brazil and anything else he wanted. this was all before he became a superstar and was making millions of dollars himself. i am presuming your parents will not be able to afford that, and if you want to train at the best gyms, go to brazil etc you will have to work your ass off and do it yourself. bj had the fortunate freedom to overtake alot of these barriers and devote his entire life to bjj, and then mma, without a worry in the world - money was not a concern. some have actually speculated (inc rogan from memory) that this is why he wasn't always 'hungry' when he fought, or simply gave up at times - he didn't really HAVE to do it to survive and was burnt out. someone who came from absolutely nothing (i.e. koscheck, who i don't like) was fucking hungry at the beginning because if he lost, he wouldn't be paid and would have to back to working at a factory or whatever he was doing - no money, no roof over your head. it was make or break, and for bj it wasn't.
Old post but what you're saying is on point and is probably even be generous.
I'm pretty sure I read in BJ's autobiography a couple years back that he was FORCED to go train BJJ by his parents.
His neighbor in Hawaii at the time knew a little about BJJ and trained him a bit, telling his parents he had aptitude. His parents sent him out of Hawaii to train with Cesar Gracie in middle-of-no-where CA because all he was doing was being a punk with his crew and picking fights with the locals and getting drunk all the time.
It was at that point when he had nothing to do besides train since all his friends were back home that he realized that he wasn't just some kid with talent, but that he was amazing and started focusing, training hard, and dominating BJJ competitions. The rest is history as has been discussed...

Ok, la colombe wins.
ware 2 kop in bay area? I know it's not available, but i can't wait till all these iced coffees get better distro.
Yeah, I think La Colombe has pretty distinct branding.
IMLE, their coffee is roasted pretty dark, so it probably doesn't appeal to the coffee geek who appreciates subtle flavor notes. Nice bottle though... I similarly picked up a bar of chocolate there out of curiosity due to packaging.
had a laugh at this gimmick doma is pulling. i want to cop some so i can tell everyone i just picked up a pound of chronic. but you'd think given the name it would at least be single origin? nope.
cheesy description here: http://domacoffee.co...?id=745&secid=5
haha that is pretty cheesy.

This is what Stumptown did with their bottled coffee:
This is what Blue Bottle did:
That's a serious loss on BB's part.

Best to stick to ajinomoto, or mama chariy's.
5/10 - the wrap decent, the filling is sort of squishy and artificial.
I grew up on these. Cooked well they are pretty good but yeah filling leaves a little to be desired.
Through college I ate these bags. Overall pretty satisfying, thicker chewier dumpling skin. Cheap too.
Definitely use this with whatever brand you choose

Anyone already have their shoes? I'm on the fence about keeping my pair.
