  1. he might be talking about the stacks lol

i have the same pants, i really wish they took 0.5-1 inch off the rear rise though, its a little weird

I knew it was either the fit or the stacks. Aye I've just got them so not had time to get them hemmed yet. I might leave them as I don't mind stacks at all.

Yeah the rear rise is a little bit bigger than I'm used to but its not too bad, it just means I need to wear my jeans properly instead of on my hips :)

  2. Looks great. By the looks of it an amoeba wouldn't be able to escape from underneath your jeans but if that's how you like 'm...

Haha, they'll slacken off, but yeah I do like a narrow fit.

  3. Just bought myself a pair of 555-02's in a 33w.

I've been eyeing up IH's for years but I just never pulled the trigger as other jeans came in the way (Tellasons, Steel Feathers). I'm glad I did though and I don't know why I waited so long.

Post soak, they were a bit blocky as loose but after a warm soak, everything tightened up a little and they feel much better. The waist is slightly too big by about an inch but I had to accommodate for extra thigh room. Even now the thighs are slightly tight but with wear they should loosen off.

Can't wait to start the journey!

  4. Well, first of all, the 0101 or the 0100SP are both not that tapered. For a tapered fit I recommend you search for a model based on the 0201 from the Vintage Label collection.

There are a few things that can cause a fit that you don't like and the most obvious reason is, you sized wrong. If a size 32 fits, it's not taken for granted that this is your size. So I would advise to measure your true waist and size accordingly.

If this isn't the case, you might haven taken a cut which doesn't suit you, due to your/someone's build, some cuts work and others don't.

    Thanks for this.

It's quite hard for me to be picky since I live in the north of Scotland. Usually I get my apc ps tailored for a closer fit. I usually try and make the best of what ever I can get. My tailor is brilliant though so I've got the upmost confidence I can get a desired fit from these. It's hard to judge when purchasing online you know...

I'll get some photos done once these have been altered. I'll save my blushes for the time being. I may be new, but I'm not stupid enough to post obviously poor fitting jeans :)

  5. I got my pair of jp101's today. 32" waist and they fit perfect on the waist and thighs. Unfortunately they are far from skinny from the knee down, so much so that I need at least 1.5" taken off from the knee down. I'm not sure if I've just got an unusual body but they are far from being a tight fit. With a pair of Vans on, they easily trail at the back.... I believe the 32" are either 7.5 or 8" at the hem but I think I need them hemmed to around 6.5-7".

Oh, I'm a size 10uk. So it's not as though I have baby feet. Anyone else experienced this? All the posts above appear a nicer tapered fit compared to the pair I got...

  6. Hi there, i just bought a pair of Momotaro Japan Blue JB101 Skinny Denim, and i have to say that so far im loving them.

They are a little on the tight side for my waist, in fact i cant even get the top button done. Everything else fits perfect though. Should these stretch after a week or so after wearing them around the house? My apcs stretched about 3inches overall!

I know there are posts already on stretching jeans out but none particularly for this model...

    Thanks guys!

  7. Sorry , i thought all MiJ were selvedge, arent the 400$ mijs on luisaviaroma selvedge ?

btw 472 for non selvedge raw denim is just rediculous hehe

The pair I ordered weren't selvedge which really came as a bit of a shock, considering the price!!

perfectly good pair of PS' ruined. Needed the legs tapered, for future reference is there a way of doing this without having the selvedge line ruined? Anyway the douchebags that did it managed to make the leg opening so small i cant fit my foot through it. This is why i dont trust older people altering my clothes.

Trial and error my friend. My first pair of APCs ended up the same way. When get things tapered I explain that it must be the inside leg that needs to be altered. I repeat myself at least 5 times so they understand. Thankfully I've found a local tailor that has altered 20+ items of clothing for me and I've been happy with all items.

  9. what the hell are you talking about? The nonselvedge were $472 and MIJ. Why would selvege cost less than nonselvedge?

Yeah I figured that. I have these and the long inseam is made for stacking. It looks incredible. You should give them a try. Stacking looks incredible if done correctly.

I did indeed try them on and they did stack perfectly. I thought I sized down 2 sizes, but they fitted me around the waist so I must be skinnier than I thought :). I'd also like them to be tighter at the hem by around an inch, so maybe with sizing down this could be achieved. That or if I bought the 17cms instead. Nevertheless the fit was really good. The denim was soft and felt amazing. I could wear these straight out the house instead of breaking them in.

If I sized down another 2 inches, along with the jeans being selvedged, I'd keep them without a shadow of a doubt. Personal preferences and all...

Thanks for your input though, really appreciated!

  10. a 3 year old and a 5 year old pair? Does that mean you've only been wearing APCs for the last 8 years? Damn talk about brand loyalty! :-)

No no, 5 years altogether. But yes, the only denim I've worn in the past 5 years is APCs. Prior to that I wore Levi's but I got bored of them quickly. I love the simplicity of the APCs.

I've got Dior 19cm right next to me but I'm returning them as they are not selvedge. As nice a fit as they are, I know for a fact I will prefer the fit and feel of the PSs. and I like the stiffer feel to the raw denim. Plus, I know what to expect with APCs and I love them :)

  11. Hello,

Sorry for the question as I'm sure it's been posted before, but I've looked through numerous pages without finding a definite answer.

    I've just recently purchased the Homme 19cm's from Luisaviaroma.com (the MIJ's £229.99).

They are still processing but I'm unsure if they are selvedged or not? I've bought selvedged denim for the past 10 years so I'll be a little disappointed if they're not.

    Cheers :)

Just to confirm these are not selvedged denim. I received them today and unfortunately they are no use. I got a 30" in the 19cm's and damn they are LONG! Nice and soft denim though and excellent delivery from http://www.luisaviaroma.com/

  12. So after 3 years of wearing, I decided to buy a new pair of Ps's. This allowed me to finally wash my 3 year old APC NS's, which have been tailored for a more snug fit. I've been wearing them as my primary set of denim throughout the 3 years but definitely not every day. Far from it. Anyways, on the right you'll see a before and on the left an after shot. I absolutely love the fit after washing them. Nice and ball hugging :)

And here is a shot from the back and also a comparison to my 5 year old pair of APC NS's.
