  1. Thanks for the tips.

On another note- Has anyone tried Joseph Dixon pricking irons? Would love Vergez Blanchard, but $$$$

    I own both.

Dixon's are more suitable for lacing. I don't lace shit. Complete waste of money. The tooth size is just way too wide.

Blanchard tools in general are pretty expensive, but their pricking irons have been, IMO, my best investment. The tooth size is pretty small. Definitely recommend dropping the money.

  2. On wallets, are you guys punching holes straight through the 2-3 layers of leather?

If it's thin enough, I'll just use pricking irons to go all the way through. But most of the time, I mark my holes with pricking irons and I awl each hole individually. If you've ever looked at the Al Stohlman guide to hand stitching, I follow that pretty staunchly.

  3. i'm going to a wedding today. wearing a tie with some nice denim.

if i do this, what kind of shoes can i get away with? i don't know whether i'm needing more dressy shoes because i'm wearing a tie, or if i can go casual because i'm wearing denim.

the only thing besides dunks that i wear are desert boots. am i going to need to run out and get shoes before?

  4. scabbin? you need to step your tattoo care game up. its all about aquaphor, leave a thin layer on at all time, wash every 1 to 2 hours, and wrap in saran wrap over night (with a layer of aquaphor on) cleaning generously in the morning. no scabbing, no color loss. heals within 2 to 3 days.

not a good idea to wash every 1-2 hours. excessive cleaning is BAD for the tattoo.

if you completely heal in 2-3 days, you didn't get a tattoo. a tattoo is an open wound, and peeling/scabbing is normal.
