Hey there, I've picked up what I think is an early 70's 505. Tab and patch are gone (but patina and leg twist were so great!)
It has a Talon 42 zipper, an "8" stamped top button and lemon-overlocked edges on the leg.
Any chances it's a Big E?
An other thing:
I've spotted a cheap big E 70505. Only thing that "worries" me is the stamped button: it shows a 0", while I've always seen three digits stamps on those jackets (524, 525...).
Any clue? Is it one of the latest big E batches?

Hey there,
I've spotted a 70505 Big E, but with "O" stamped buttons, instead of 3 digits (525 for instance).
Any info on those?

Seems not that expensive on the second-hand market. I wondered why (quality-wise) before I'd purchased one

Finally got my parcel few weeks ago + refund. It was a "complicated" order but everything is fine now.
Thank you Hide-san

Yeah yeah I know there is a lot of different fees involved, I've been dealing with proxies for almost 6 years now!
The 3,200 yen were solely for international shipping.

5 min to 3 hours? You're lucky unlearnt! Hide-san has been ignoring my emails for almost one month now... Let me explain my story.
A couple of weeks ago, I received a package, no problem; 2nd time I made business with Hide-san and all went smooth and easy (except 1st order which took a long long time to arrive but was not Hide-san's fault I guess).
I looked at the airway bill and I saw a shipping amount of 1,800 yen. It happened Hide-san asked for 3,200. So I sent him an email asking him why he charged me with an extra 1,400, in a very neutral tone.
Hello Hide-san,I've just received the jacket, thanks. Nevertheless, I looked at the package and written shipping cost was 1800 yen; I paid 3200 yen (see below). Can you please explain to me the 1400 yen difference?
Kind regards
J-C
No answer since that email.
The thing is I had an other order pending, an item I won a couple of days prior sending the previous email. No answer.
To sum up, no news from Hide-san for almost one month, both concerning a shipping fee refund and a Yahoo Japan item I've won.
That's 6,400 yen in the wild, no explanations, no nothing.
Hide-san I hope you come here and give me some explanations please. Thank you

Okay but retail offer remains pretty poor and unsurprising when it comes to casual menswear.
At least concerning my particular needs

Sounds great, thanks!

If you are in a more workwear/rugged casual/vintage/street wear mood, retail offering is not as big and innovative as Pari's reputation could let you imagine...
Casual menswear is definitely not a French tradition...
You can still check French Trotters, APC, around République place or near Canal St Martin (same neighborhood). LVC store is a good addition to the retail offering, be sure to check it. Royal Cheese also has a good denim and boots selection.
Try to check " les puces de St Ouen", where the whole world come to find rare and expensive antiquities (lots of beautifull XIXth and industrial furnitures). Really nice place a bit outside Paris, only opened on weekends though
Good Larry Clarck and Basquiat expositions at the modern art museum; also check the Palais de Tokyo library and Cité de l'Architecture (also same area).
Best areas for gigs: Buttes Chaumont, Menilmontant, Ledru-Rollin (metro stations)
If you're into bike, several adresses to check (refer to the pictures on the left of this page: http://www.pignonfixe.com/)

Hi there,
I'm about to receive this bad boy. I've got some questions regarding sleeves repair. How would you do it, knowing the original cotton fabric is quite fragile when ripped?
Peice of strong material b/ lining and cotton fabric then Zig-zag with olive drab matching thread to close the wound?
According to a french forum, it's a post-WW2 piece. Not much evidence of use, except this picture of 36th squadron during Korea war:
