  1. if they are the hand painted ones then they start wearing off as soon as you're really wearing the jeans.  I've seen many where you could barely tell that there was a gull there. of all the jeans I've owned, evisu have been the best, and well worth the time to dedicate to wearing them.

i had a lot 2001 no2 wore for 2 years and the gulls look almost new haha with that being said, i lost weight after getting them so they were fairly loose which might have meant less fading happening?

I have a pair of no 1 special lot 2000 tagged 33 35 , but way smaller like , 14.5 across waist , pm me if interested in trade or buy , hot soaked , very minimal wear

ah would be interested if it was bigger. im true waist 33.

my small e lot 2000 no.2 are w32x35 ... too small for me to even wear them (impulse buy online). message if anyones interested in them. such beautiful denim... yet these days my 501 stf fit better and get all the wear haha

  2. hi all, anyone have any methods to remove the gull on the back pocket or would anyone like to trade? (please, spare me the jokes - saw enough of them while googling how to remove lol) i have an almost new pair of small e, no.2 2000 32x35 and the gulls just aren't me anymore. cheers.

  3. I got the same pair! id advising sizing down one... true to size gets quite baggy... (and i usually wear baggy jeans lol). imo. its the color of the fades of this i like the most.

i think it depends on the fit each persons after. i sized down one on my 2000 no2 and its quite a tight fit for me. i probably would have liked true to size.. tho i guess it depends on how each person wears theres clothes eh.
i have a small naval waist compared to my hip's plus chicken legs....

hard out. my waists pretty big. lol

^ Around 10,000 yen if I remember correctly...

Saw this on the streets of Melbourne today, arggg:

pair looks mean though i dont think many people can pull them off properly. iv seen em once in person and after they fade the look they so cool i reckon lol

got a pair of evis the other day too. its a pair i saw online years ago and finally came across recently. love the diacock. dont knock em till u try em! wish theyd paint the small diacocks more. does anyone know where to get it painted like that?

  4. i sized down 2 on my no2 and the fit is great....

  5. what? this sounds insane.

I sag my 2000 a bit cause the low rise is a bit too low for me which mite explain more stretch i guess... and the 2001 stretch is cause i sag them a bit too cause the inseam is a bit on the short side haha

  6. I'm sure but seeing it as I've worn my MIJ No2s to shreds and I've found a sweet pair of Macau no 1 specials on sale at like 100 USD I'm asking how nicely they fade as compared to my No2s which I love.

Well I haven't personally tried the stuff myself but my friend has and he wasn't very happy with them :/ but I guess any jeans will fade nicely if u wear em hard? I'm sure others will have better input though...

  7. My bad, I didn't mean red line, I meant red caste. It reflects the type of dye used. Usually, you'll come across red or green caste denim, though there are other variations.

Here's a decent list of denim terminology.

Thanks heflys. Learn something new everyday eh. Still wish if they were going to use different dyeing processes on the same denim number it would be nice if they indicated that somehow. Are the new no.1's red or green caste? And new no.2's green caste?

edit: thanks for the info salaami!

  8. I doubt the red line jeans (the ones with purplish tint) will look bad, particularly since a majority of Evisu Japan's denim is red line.

Any particular reason they're called redline? is that to do with the material or stitching or something?

Oi dietings not too bad... jus cut out snacks, eat fruit n nuts and uv got most of it sorted. I've lost 2 inches off the waist and 10kgs this yr so far ... which sucks since my 2001s dont fit me anymore =(

  9. i was hoping as it faded, the greenish tinge would show more.... the puple just isnt my thing though the fits great. would have been nice if they had different lot numbers or denim numbers for denim thats differently dyed -.-

anyone own that purplish denim (no2) or got any fade pics of them?

  10. Been a cloudy day so the pics dont show the color too well... but you can see the one on the left is a purplish? (the 2000 no2 small e) ... will it still fade the same way with that greenish tinge as my 2001 no2 big E on the right? Or is the denim used completely different?

  11. Hey, does anyone know if there are differences between different no.2 made in japan denim? My lot 2001 big E no.2s have a greenish tinge to them, however my lot 2000 small E no.2s have a purplish tinge to them.

I was hoping both the no.2s would be the same and have that greenish tinge to them... :/ Is the differences because of the small E and the big E tabs? Are the small E ones the older ones? As they fade will they get that greenish tinge to them at all?

    @ethandesu: great pics/stories!

  12. This is a long shot but just putting it out there if anyones wants..

I got 2001 no.2s 34x32 with not much fading. but I've been loosing weight a lot this year so if anyone has 2001 no.2s 33x33(or longer inseam) and keen to trade or work something out (if theyve put on weight and wana go up a size or whatever) lemme know.

Yea long shot, but worth a try right lol

nemoulette... nice fit n fades man
