Self Edge Portland - Opening August 3rd
Even though I don't live there anymore I am a native Portlander and this news is fucking awesome.
No sales tax in OR for those of you who didn't know too

Are the Flat Head and Self Edge feather rings sized the same (I know they are technically one size fits all, but I mean is either one larger in diameter than the other)?

I know it's completely off topic, but I need that shirt on the left ...
Oh, but to contribute: when traveling I rock a POS samsonite and carry my camera/carryon stuff in a Burton F-Stop backpack.

Thank you sid for making the obvious painful I guess if I were to refine my question...would it be ill advised to wear a natural belt with jeans that lose a lot of indigo? (My APCs and Nudies didn't bleed like these FH)
Thanks!
This is a week old now, so I assume whatever decision about wearing the belt has already been made. That said, here is a crappy iphone pic of a Tanner natural belt that has spent its entire life paired with some F380's (~18 months).
Never had any indigo stains on the outside really, but obviously the inside (rougher leather) got pretty bad. Like everyone else said though, who cares? That's kind of the point...

I've been away for months...just found this thread and read start to finish.
Wow.
Best thread on any forum about any subject IMO I am stocked on denim at the moment, but I am definitely keeping this in mind for my next purchase.

Hoat soaked, hemmed and worn does not equal new...haha.
I wish you hadn't lopped off 2 inches from the inseam.
Well, true. I did put about 10 solid minutes of wear into them
They were just too frigging long, so I hemmed. I am only like 6ft tall and the stacking looked odd. They are still longer than my flatheads. Oh well...

Sugarcane sexsc06 size 36, hemmed 2.5" by Self Edge. These are brand new, worn around house a little bit to test size, that's it. Hot soaked before hemmed, so the inseam should be stable.
Bought these on release day, but never wore them as I am finishing a pair of Flat Heads. In the meantime I have dropped a waist size so I am not really interested in starting on these (nor am I interested in regaining the weight so they will fit ).
Measurements:
Hem 8.8
Inseam 33.5
Waist 37 (will shrink an inch or so after hot soak/wash)
I am 99% sure I still have the tags as well, will be included as long as I can find them in my messy apartment. $200 shipped (conus). Paypal preferred, I will pay the fee.

hey kiya random question but why do alot of brands skip sz 35?
Yep sign me up for more 35's too. 36 = too damn big in the waist, 34 = normally too tight above the knee

I have done no modifications so far, but ever since picking up the USA Sam's I have been tempted to add a crotch rivet to every pair of jeans I own.
In the same vein, those Sam's are now like +5 after I lost some weight I would love to have DD or someone attempt to slim them down so I could still wear them, but I am afraid they might end up as some sort of weird frankenstein BS (not to mention I am sure that would be pretty pricey work to have done). Sigh

Shit, that thigh is tighter than size 36 sexfh05's...
Yea I am definitely out then, no way I could fit my upper legs

Do these fit like normal 501's? Measurements?
I think a bigger dude world tour sounds awesome...forget all these size 28 folk

I ended up reading (almost) this entire thread...how depressing.
I kind of wanted to try a big dude world tour someday (like w35) but this kind of makes me have second thoughts about any of that...

i have the sexih05s
and i lost 25 lbs since ive boughten them.
what do i do.
kill self?
make them into shorts?
run a marathon?
go scuba diving?
life mysteries in our hands.
explain kiya. explanation.
I have some [insert non flathead brand] that I have the same problem with. They are now in the neighborhood of being sized +5 I can wear belt but the legs still look stupid...I am biting the bullet and selling.
I should just keep them in long term storage...figure at some point in my life I will regain weight (hopefully in my 60's or something)...could be rocking super vintage jawnz.

While I haven't been wearing my sexfh's as they don't really fit right I have been putting full time on my F380's for a long while and don't have fading anything like some of these. Beautiful.
My basically new sexfh's are for sale if anyone is still trying to find a pair (36, $200 shipped)

Update:
I went ahead and hot soaked them again to see what would happen with the measurements, they are now as follows:
Waist: 36
Inseam: 35.5
Thigh: 25
Leg opening: 17
So, my theory now is that basically I didn't get all the shrinkage out with the initial soak. So keep in mind they have now been soaked twice, but still have no wear on them (I have only worn them around the house a bit...I want to love them but I have to face the fact I have F380 legs and there is no point in fighting it ).
$200 shipped in the US, tags and yoyo included
Sams also for sale still.

Probably won't be picking up due to timing issues (xmas, required upcoming travel $$, just bought the sexsc06's, etc) but I think they look great. Always nice to see some options with a tad looser fit...

Scored some ups shipping coupons...so I am dropping $10 off each
Flatheads: $215 shipped (conus)
Samurais: $90 shipped (conus)
Any thoughts on my double soak idea above? I am thinking it would probably be a good idea at this point...

Ok guys, I have been getting a ton of requests about the measurements on the sexfh05's:
Waist: 37.75
Inseam: 36.25
Thigh: 25.75-26
Leg opening: 17.25
Now, I know the waist seems big but I don't really have an answer for it. They were soaked once and worn around the house mostly...maybe I stretched them a bit, maybe mine just ran big in the first place, maybe I didn't get the shrinkage out? I don't know...I know the waist measurement has been a big contention with people, I am halfway tempted to hot soak again in hopes of having the waist end up closer to what people want, but then again that would make the jeans twice soaked and not just once (so even less new right? heh). Tough call.

FWIW I love my Tanner (standard natural). I see a London tan with the black hardware in my future (will match the black buttons on the sexsc06's )

Do these require any oil/treatment/etc when new? I normally don't do anything to my leather goods and they all seem to age pretty nicely, but I don't know anything about horsehide.
