  1. Those are lovely. These are a repro of the oldest pair of workpants in the archives, by which I mean a pair of pants that the company themselves kept since they were first made.

In the very early days, Levi's pants were made both in cotton duck and denim - the denim proved more popular. It was many years until some denim versions of these jeans turned up - as the Nevada, which Levi's had to pay $42,000 for. I think they're pretty much identical, except the Nevada has a ruler pocket on the thigh. These repros were made in Valencia St, the old Levi's factory, which is a nice extra.

Lol scary thing was i picked them up in TKMaxx along with a pair of 201 xx 1937s in 2001 for about £30 each.

I didn't know they were LVC, i just througth they looked interesting

  2. I have a pair of the cotton duck Levi's Waist Overalls and over the years they've lost a couple of buttons on the fly, as the buttons are very sharp and tend to cut through the thread.

Does anyone have any idea where I might be able to get replacement buttons, I had a trawl trhough Levi's customer service pages but couldn't really find anything.

    Thanks

  3. Thanks for the replies guys. the 201's seem a bit narrower in the leg than I remember when I used to wear them, but I guess like Eric I've filled out over the last 10 years. I'm Kinda kicking myself now as LVCs used to turn up in TK Maxx all the time about 10 years ago especially the 501s, I shoulda bought the lot out.

I wish I'd know about caring for my jeans when i'd bought them as when i saw my legs were blue after I'd worn them I chucked 'em into a 40 degree wash and they shrunk quite a bit in the leg down to about a 34" from a 38".

I think I'll have a look round the board to get an idea about how to a age then nicely.

Skightly off-topic but I've still got my sta-prest and engineered Levis from when they first came out in the late 1990's, is it worth hanging onto them?

  4. Thanks for that, found them in TK Maxx of all places, got these at the same time. I think they are 201 XX 1937s. I think I read that the ones Levis made about 10 years ago were some of the best repros Levis made.

  5. Hello all

I've been a long time lurker on here and love the board. I've been having a clean out and came across a pair of Levi's I bought about 8 years ago. I've scoured the boards to try and find anything out about them but I can't seem to find any threads with them in. If I remember from when I bought them in about 2000 they're a copy of a very early pair of Levis and IIRC Levis used the original manufacturing process and machinery.

    Here's some piccys
