Not sure why I didn't post these in here yet...
worn Oct 07-May 08, one soak Jan., washed and unfortunately machine dried in May but they still fit. less contrast in real life slightly.

is it worth getting a pair of nudie average joes? i just want to step up from the $30 levi stfs i had.
also in the case i do buy them, should i buy size 29 or 30 or 31? a size 32 x 33 STF fit me well.

those turn out very very nice. really nice!
great first post and so is it too short for you now?
thanks.
they're a little short, but not bad. goes past my ankles when i stand but above them when i sit...i'll probably still wear them until august or so.

Levi's 501STF. The cheap kind. First raw denim experiment, cost me $33.
Worn from late September-October until about April? On-off at some points. Went two weeks without wearing them at one point. Washed just now, hot, unfortunately dried as well but not as much shrinkage as I thought. Probably should have gotten them longer initially.
Cold soak around end of January:
Post-wash (real color is a little darker):
Overall pleased...moving on to APC Rescues soon I guess.

@borkborkbork: thanks--could i just iron them as well? man this is so frustrating having them washed when they were not ready! they feel more gross washed than unwashed!
i'll pay forward some advice then...
u sure they were raw? they are supposed to be very very stiff especially if you never put them on. it takes a few months for STFs to start fades, i washed and dried mine (rather, my parents did on accident) after 8 months (first cold soak after 4) and got decent results. mine got machine washed and dried on accident but if i were you i would just wash cold. mines looked like this afterwards:
