  1. Glad to see this thread is still somewhat alive after all this time.

I seem to remember there were a few people on here like myself that work/worked in flash. How are you finding things at the minute? Are you still doing flash stuff? Have you branched out or switched to HTML5 and Javascript?

On a side note, anybody want (or know anybody that would want) some design work doing pro bono? Trying to build up some personal clients so I figure this is a good place to ask.

  2. What's the difference between the Climbers, OG, and Chinos?

As far as I can tell Climbers and OG are made from Outliers 4 seasons fabric, Climbers are skinnier (and maybe a bit stretchier?) than the OGs. Chinos are made from a different fabric but also incorporate the schoeller nanosphere coating found on the OGs/Climbers.

  3. Anyone got any suggestions for some tech chinos/trousers? Not necessarily tech in styling just something made from technical fabric (schoeller etc). I was going to go with outlier climbers but a lot of people have commented on them being very stretchy and legging like (although I guess thats sort of the point) and the 4 seasons pants would probably be a bit baggy.

  4. I guess if theres not really a market for them then thats that, Ill just have to look for them when I make i make it up to Sydney at some point.

I think in the meantime I may find it hard to resist the tempation of those somets, they really are a steal for that price and they have em in my size.

  5. Unless you want APCs, selvage Edwins or Naked & Famous just measure and buy online like the rest of us.

And those Somets at AOI are damn good value if they've got your size.

Well Im not expecting someone to point me to a treasure trove of hardcore japanese selvedge but it doesn't hurt to know whats available. Personally I find it nice to be able to try stuff on to get the right fit rather than making essentially a (well)educated guess and buying online, besides I presumed that melbourne being melbourne and Imperials being Australian made that there would be somewhere that actually stocks them.

  6. I know this has been asked before, but can anyone recommend some good barbers in London? I tried Huckers last week and the guy there did a really good job, but Im curious to try a few other places before I settle on a regular.

  7. Hope Con and Ceremony supporting Unbroken... gone from stoked to pissing myself for the next 6 months.

Whered you here this? I know ceremony is confirmed, as are Rot in hell, ritual and abolition.

On a side note, are there any other good shows coming up in London?

  8. I cant bring myself to use a straightener.

My hair would be badass (pomp) if it were straightened, but I just. Cant. do it.

Well thats the only reason Im considering it, been trying to grow my hair out on top to try n get a sweet pomp goin.

  9. Bit off topic maybe, but do any of you guys use straighteners? Was thinking of getting some cheapish ones to see if they would work with my hair now that Im letting it grow a bit, any reccomendations?

  10. This is a bit of a vague question, but for those of you who have had serious work done, how do you develop your idea? Do you just go to your artis with an idea and let them come up with a concept? Or do you go along with something more complete and just let the artist interpret that in his.her style?

  11. Exactly my thoughts.

For all its "international-ness" it's very English, in its positioning, target, culture, humour, etc. Also very oriented towards boys in their 30s. Sometimes I suspect the articles aren't even meant to be read, like lorem ipsum.

I bought it every month for the first year but somehow got bored and stopped...

I often wonder the same thing, myself I'm a 20something new media/creative professional type and while I enjoy a lot of the content of the magazine I often wonder who they are trying to kid with some of the features they run. Certainly the tone of some of the articles borders on arrogant, assuming you have limitless wealth to snap up property on a whim and jet set around the world etc etc. The ad content too strikes me as a little over the top given my understanding of the target readership, how may young creative professionals (dj raijio excl) can afford even half of the luxury brands that advertise?

Of course this is all based on the assumption that the readership of the magazine is indeed young creative professionals, I've certainly never seen anyone else with a copy, but that doesn't mean that there arent other reader groups.

I still very much enjoy the magazine though despite its shortcomings.
